Just need a set of wheels for her. Had Corima Aero tubular's on my last bike. Nice wheels, tubs ace...BUT tub off if the wheel ever needed trueing. Replacement tubs nearly £40 a go. Was considering going full carbon clincher, but after trawling the forums am reading of problems with brake tracks overheating...

So guys....recommendations anyone. Looking to ride them to train ocassionally on them and race so want something durable. Would really like Zipp 404's but have read so much about poor durability that really put off.

Have looked at the FFWD range, in particular FFWD F5R tubular's. Anyone any experience of FFWD wheels ?

I've had my S1 about 3 1/2 weeks at this point. I've put about 200 miles on it, and it performs as expected.
When my LBS was putting it together, the store manger told me to come in and check it out when it was in
the "rolling chassis" stage (wheels, no tires). As we were admiring it, he grabbed the seatpost to mount it on a
a stand, and lo and behold the clamp was loose. My brand new Ksyrium Elites along with frame fell onto the
floor on the rim edges. The manager caught the bike in the upright position and inspected the wheels. Things
appeared to be okay, but today I was just inspecting the bike, and noticed a small bump near the edge of the rear wheel.
there's definitely a small raised area where the rim hit the floor. The wheel appears true but the integrity of the braking
surface is slightly compromised.

I will be going to my LBS for an adjustment, and will bring this up. I'm wondering if I should demand a new rear wheel?

Doping!

- I was tested 200 times and was doped in 100 of cases. Yet I was only taken once, "says Bernhard Kohl.

R3 Buildup :)

Hey peeps im eagerly awaiting the arrival of my R3 frameset this week i will post pictures when complete hopefully in a few days :) im hoping for it to be atleast a sub 7kg build when done J hopefully specs will be.....

I read online that the 2009 medium size was bigger so I had some doubts when I ordered. I've worn medium sized Giro Atmos, Bell Sweep and Lazer Genesis helmets and all fit fine. My head circumference (measured around the forehead where the helmet sits) is 56cm. The medium Whisper Plus is about 1cm too big. I'm wondering if the small will be too small or will fit. Has anybody had a similar experience? If anybody has a small, can you please measure your head (or the inside of the helmet) and tell me if there is any room to go bigger or smaller. Short legs and long torso. Really want an R3 and very close to buying. Tried bundling lots of questions in one post before, and bothering people with pvt messages (whose replies I am very thankful for) but let me boil it down to this:

With a saddle height of 70.5cm (might be 71, but lets be conservative) what is the max (no spacers) saddle to bar drop possible on a 54 R3?

Problem is that I don;t have measurements from a previous bike cause I was on too big a bike with barely any drop (and no clipless pedals). But I want more drop now. Even to race. How can I know how much will be good and how much will be too much? I understand that I'll only really know after several weeks of riding what's comfortable for me. I'm concerned I'll buy the 54 for example, and then want to lower my bars further. Was suggested that I could then go neg stem, but I'd feel like I should have just gotten the 51.

Reach and top tube are better on the 54 for me, though I've gotten top tube recomendations of 535 to 555. Long live "pro" fitters. I guess it's a case of the more people you ask, the more opinions you'll get.

Anyone with experience of similar measurements, or with any thoughts at all is welcome.

Sastre: 2010 Tour is spectacular for climbers

Haussler looking forward to cobbles
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2010 Tour de France presents plenty of opportunities for Cervélo
Cervélo TestTeam will have plenty of opportunities to shine in what’s a
varied and challenging route for the 2010 Tour de France, unveiled
Wednesday in a lavish ceremony in Paris.

The 20-stage, 3,596km route for the 97th Tour starts in Rotterdam,
Holland, on July 3 and ends on the Champs-Élysées on July 23 in the
heart of Paris. In between, the season’s most important and prestigious
race offers ample ground for Cervélo TestTeam to perform.

“It’s an interesting Tour, above all for us, a very interesting first
week,” said Cervélo TestTeam sport director Jean-Paul Van Poppel. “The
weather conditions will mark the race and there will be some
opportunities for us to do something when we are up in the north.
Especially the third stage, with some cobblestones, we have a lot of
riders who can do something on the cobblestones.”

The route offers something for everyone. With an opening week across
Holland, Belgium and northern France,
Cervélo star sprinter and
defending green jersey-winner Thor Hushovd will have chances to go on
the hunt for sprint victories and make a run for the yellow jersey.

“I like the parcours. It’s very difficult, especially the final week,
which is good for me. A lot of the sprinters won’t be able to make it
through the Pyrénées,” said Hushovd after watching the 45-minute Tour
presentation in Paris. “My goals are the same as always, to win stages
and try to win the green jersey again. It’s never easy, but the Tour is
always hard. Last year was good for our team and I think next year,
we’ll be even better. I like the return of the prologue. We haven’t had
one in a few years and I always do pretty well. It’s a chance to take
the yellow jersey.”

Week two, which enters the Jura Mountains and the Alps, opens things up
for stage-hunters and breakaway artists, like Cervélo’s Heinrich
Haussler, who won a breakthrough stage victory across the Vosges
Mountains this year.

“It’s definitely harder than last year’s Tour. That last week won’t be
easy for anyone. Carlos should be able to really do well in the
Pyrénées and we’ll be working for him,” said Haussler, who also
attended the presentation. “There are some very interesting stages,
especially in the first half of the Tour. I’m not a pure sprinter, but
with the stages that go over the cobblestones and later in the second
week will present a good chance to try to win a stage. After winning a
stage this year, I will only have more confidence and motivation going
into 2010.”

Week three sees the GC favorites stepping forward, with a demanding and
decisive string of stages across the towering peaks of the Pyrénées.

This year’s route underscores the historical importance of the rugged
Pyrénées by setting them up as the Tour’s centerpiece in what’s the 100th anniversary of the first true mountain stages, introduced a century ago in 1910.

That’s music to the ears of Cervélo’s GC captain and 2008 Tour de
France champion Carlos Sastre Candil, who won a breakout stage victory in 2003
at Aix-3 Domaines, which is the setting of the finish for stage 14.

A summit finish up the Tourmalet in stage 17 will prove decisive to
anyone hoping to win the Tour. The stage is ideally situated for
Sastre, who rises to the occasion in the third and final week of a
grand tour.

Close proximity to Spain will allow thousands of Sastre’s fans to pour
over the border to cheer on the Spanish climber as he takes on the Tour
after not quite having the legs to successfully defend his Tour crown
in 2009.

A penultimate-day time trial, held on a 51km flat course in Bordeaux,
will keep fans and riders alike sitting on the edge of their seats
until the final moments of the race.

“I think the most important stages are the climbing stages to Aix-3
Domaines and the Tourmalet, but there are a lot of other stages in
between where we can do something,” Jean-Paul Van Poppel said. “The time trial
is long and going north, so perhaps it will be against the wind. It’s
long, but we only have to do it once. It’s an interesting Tour, but
from what I see now, it’s a very interesting first week. A lot will
depend on the weather conditions.”
WTB Soloist Team Frame 58cm

Long shot I know but I am looking for a used soloist team frame in a size 58cm, the all grey one. Hopefully there is one kicking around that has not been beat up too badly. I really just want the frame but if you have a complete bike I am interested as well.

which was 58cm (had standard non compact geometry).
Since I snapped the felt I've been forced to ride my dolan track champion around, not the nicest of rides on the road.
I'm 6 foot 2 (188cm) , fairly evenly proportioned (inseam from bottom of foot to groin is about 34 inches (86cm)).

I'm pretty heavy at 16 stone (not fat really just have humongous quads) and not very fleixble, I can just touch my toes but have
no chance in getting my palms flat on the floor.

On my current setup I have a verticle top of seat to bb drop of 81cm and a ctc top tube (horizontal) of 59cm.
I can't choose between the 58 or 61, my fears with the 58 is that id have too bigger drop from seat to bars, anyone think this
would be the case? I know there is little difference in reach between the 58/61 so thats not really an issue as I have a few stems.

Id rather get the 58/61 for aero and weight but as I'm not flexy I really dont like big seat to bar drops.
Any advice (other than to try one out :/).

I've read as much on this as I can, in another thread on here (http://forums.cervelo.com/forums/t/3919.aspx)
There is a 6 foot 2 guy with 35.5 inch legs who rides a 58 and has it setup like this

This would be pretty uncomfy for me and as this guy is the same height im leaning towards the 61?

cheers!
Jon.

(sorry about the crap formatting, im new here and can't work out how to put breaks in)

Di2 Install on R3

I've got a 2006 R3, and I'm in the middle of installing the Di2 group. There is a slight interference at the front derailleur, between the top edge of the braze-on on the bike, and the wiring socket on the derailleur. To position the derailleur at the recommended clearance to the chainring, I needed to file the corner off the edge of the braze-on. I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue?

selling new S 3 61 cm black/silver

Unfortunately misjudged frame size, hence have brandnew 2009 frameset for sale. never built up, in original box, complete with 3T Funda fork, Cervelo seatpost and Cane Creek headset.
