Weather changed overnight.  Band of thunder and lightning moved through and this am was drizzly and foggy on the coast.  Did the popular Sambro Loop:  Purcells Cove Rd to Herrring Cove Rd to Sambro and back into Halifax via Old Sambro Road.  Sun started burning off fog midway in ride and drying road.

Club Jersey..We have a great cycling club..Hickam Area Cycling Club (HACC), everyone is affiliated with the DoD in one way or another.

I'm actually coming your way this summer, heading to Pendleton. I'll have to have you drag me up a couple hills.

Yeah.. I looked up the site of your club when I noticed the service branch seals and the "United We Ride" on the jerseys. Six years of DoD affiliation.. ;)

There's some climbing around here I'm sure you'll like.

A beautiful spring day in the Tahoe/Sierra.

It is the time of the year when we ride the local passes as the snow gets cleared....before the roads open to traffic.

This was a low snow year so things will open soon.

As far as we could get yesterday......at about the 8300 foot level.......only a mile and another 400+ feet from the summit of Ebbetts Pass.

My Cervelo is thinking Hawaii sounds really good right now.

Huge forest fire outside of the city, makes me change plans at the last minute.

Instead of doing the usual Sambro Loop, I head out to Prospect Village and back. Road isn't all that inspiring until you turn off Hwy 333 to head to Prospect Bay and Village. You could see the flume of smoke from Prospect. Pictures of the ride on my coffee blog linked below:

Me on my S1 racing in Alken, Belgium. Super bike to race criteriums with! I ended this race in the peloton as 32 of 89 riders.

Calgary, that's funny. I moved to Halifax in 1991 from Calgary and I greatly miss the riding in the Foothills.

I did my usual little 18 mile loop. Almost half of it is through some local canyons. I almost ran over a four foot snake slithering across the bike path earlier..

There was a, "get to know your fire dept" event going on where you can chat with the fire fighters and check their vehicles (not the best pic showing that).   The BBQ sure smelled good.

It got a bit warm out. This was the hottest it got for me today. My asthma, HR, and breathing got a little screwy at this point due to the heat. Especially on the climbs.

Here's an old pic where today's temps peaked for me which was close to this spot.

The location is Cormier Cove in Southeast New Brunswick. I am headed home to Taylor Village, several more kilometers down the road. Unseen to the left is the Memramcook River which is a tidal basin of the Bay of Fundy. The trip home in the Springtime frequently involves a gusty headwind; and, in late Summer/Fall, the wind changes to a tailwind from the northeast.

This picture was taken in autum during a ride at the Stromberg Region / Germany by my trainingspartner Volker Haxsen.

Funny, I don' t have much in the way of pictures of my local ride. However, last year a small group of us decided to trek from Seal Beach CA. to Las Vegas over 3 days.  It was an epic ride to say the least.  I didn't have my Cervelo at the time (was riding a Devinci) but am now the proud owner of an RS with SRAM Force all over.  I would have loved to complete this ride on the RS!

Here's a shot of me on the Cajon Pass on our way up to about 4100ft as we head toward Barstow.  What you can't really see in this shot is the rest of the group. Their heads are barely visible over the top of the RV near the top-left of the shot.
