Ditto what other threads have said, the scenery looks good but what i would give to cycle on a road surface that good. Here in Scotland the road surfaces are pretty poor (just as well I have an R3). To get surfaces that good I pop over to Spain or Majorca where not only are the roads good, and the climbs awesome ,but the weather is superb. If only I knew how to get photos onto this site I would post a few.

    InIllinois:

For those not familiar - Acadia National Park is in Maine, USA. Just across the bay from Nova Scotia.

I'll be doing the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island in late September and then driving down to DC. I'll make sure to do the Acadia National Park loop on our trip through Maine. Beautiful - thanks for the photos and the inspiration.

thom_y: That road through Acadia looks fairly fresh. How much snow cover does it get? I'm sure a couple of seasons of snow, ice, and salt will play havoc with it. Anyone planning a long distance trip in the future may want to be beware. I could be wrong, but our asphalt here in Illinois goes to hell pretty fast.
