    Cervelo Bar Plugs

My handlebar tape recently came undone in the middle of a ride. Unfortunately, I didn't notice until I had finished, and to my dismay, both my plugs had fallen out (The cool ones with the e'). Anyone know where I can get these? There just so cool!

Watch for them on ebay. I bought some bar plugs on ebay with the handlebar tape.

Most cervelo dealers will have a few laying around, when we build a TT/tri bike we dont use the plugs so they get put into a spare box for later.  The cervelo plugs have a problem of falling out all the time, so watch them close.  stop by your local cervelo dealer i will bet they have a box just like we do

    thanks.

Yeah they do fall out a lot, i got some alloy replacement ones that dont fall out.

But I'm willing to have to push them back in all the time just to get that awesomeness! I mean they're just soooooooooo cooooooool

I took the bit that I trimmed to square the final wrap and used it as a shim when I inserted the plug. Yeah, I could have used the ugly fake chrome Profile Design plugs, but why?

Use a couple of dabs of Elmers Glue. That's what I did. Works like a charm.

Yes well, I don't know about how "coooooooool" they are, as a previous poster had gushed..... I think the quality of the plugs are such that I have seriously considered giving up on Cervelo.  I like the ride of my SLC, but the plugs have really turned me off.  I think I will get a Trek Madone now.

Might be better to drill a small hole in the middle of each plug and put red and white tassles on. No need to go to the Madone if you can have tassles on your Cervelo.

    Re: Cervelo Bar Plugs

I love the look of the new "e" plugs and was pumped when I was able to purchase new tape with the plugs.  However, the plugs fall out.  New tape and plugs cost about $20.  This is the only tape I've ever puchased (except maybe for Profile Designs) where the plugs have fallen out.  I will now be running "B" plugs (they work wonderfully with no modification or extra work) as a form of protest until Cervelo provides better plugs with their tape.  I'll also not be purchasing the Cervelo tape in the future either unless the plugs get changed.  I'll keep the bike though.

Give the bar plugs a few wraps with tape, they'll stay in then (except the tassles will tend to work them loose ..... but it's worth it to look cool as you're passing a Madone).

Ah, there's the ticket!!!!!  Why didn't I think of that?  Okay, I guess I'll keep the Cervelo.... hmmm.... tassles....  What about those clikkity-clack things for the spokes?  People can hear me coming!!  er.. I mean, approaching....

...Everybody knows you can't use the cards with areo forks and bladed spokes - the fork is too wide to get the clothespin around, and the spokes just cut the cards in half.

I solved that problem by using zip ties on the forks and kevlar cards ...... works great! The cards match the tassle colors (and my Sidi shoes) - red and black, which looks great on my black SLT . The kids in my 'hood think I'm the bomb.
