Well, this has gone in a little different direction than the original post but....I had purchased a new Easton EC 90 SLX fork to replace an old fork on my Serotta. I couldn't pass up the price. When the Wolf SL recall came up on my R3 SL, I decided to try the Easton on the R3 SL. The steer tube length turned out to be identical for the two bikes.
In every kind of climbing, descending, sprinting, flat riding I can do, I can tell no difference between the Easton SLX and the Wolf SL forks except they sound different and I had to adjust the brake pads by about 5 mm. I think I can feel a little difference in terms of side winds when riding no hands........the Easton seems a bit less afftected. Go figure.
I am on a 51 cm, 5' 7" , 150 lbs. and almost 60 yrs old and ride hard bu I probably don't put the forces on it that many can.
When the replacement Funda comes I'll put that on and see if I can tell anything.
