The E new from Cervelo sent out yesterday mentions both the 3T Funda Pro and the Easton EC90 SLX fork. Are you sure that they are replacing the Wolf forks with 3T's? I sure hope so. I have heard that the Easton has more flex.

I would guess that the fork you get will depend on the territory that you're in.

I just took my SL fork off of my SLC SL and brought it into my medical practice and X-ray-d it and sure enough the aluminum insert was 80mm and was not anywhere close to being inside the head tube. In fact it was 15mm short of inserting into the head tube and only inserted into the FSA top bearing cover. Thats a real bummer since the guy that did the initial install was a top grade pro mechanic for the local Cervelo dealership. Its exactly as I suspected, the info on how to install the forks was not passed down from the manufacturer to the dealers to the mechs to the consumer until it was to late. I just hope I can get a 3T fork for a replacement and not the Easton fork, I will be very cautious this time about the install. I will post pics of the X-ray as soon as I can take a picture of it with my digi cam. I bet up to 50% or more of the SL forks out there have been installed incorrectly at this point and at some time in the future they will fail. Cosmetically and via x-ray I did not see any damage to the fibers and I have hit alot of cattle guards and potholes with that fork so thats a good thing.

I hope Cervelo sent out the addendum instructions to all Cervelo dealers this time around, I printed it out and will be taking it with me to the LBS this time.

Does anyone have a contact number for Cervelo? My LBS says they have no control over what replacement fork that I will be getting for my Wolf SL but I would like to know.

I just had my fork replaced by Cervelo because it snapped while I was riding it.  And not even a week later it's recalled?  Talk about bad timing.

I just hope they can do a better job of customer service.   When mine broke, my LBS told me up front that Cervelo has a customer service problem and wouldn't even give me the phone number to call.  It ended up taking over 2 weeks to get the part from the time the warranty replacement was approved.

I had to nag my shop 3 times a week just to get it back that fast.  Now my shop thinks I'm a jerk and doesn't want to do business with me.  Thank you, Cervelo...

Re: Wolf SL being recalled by Cervélo...fork rake on replacement Funda Pro fork?

Anyone remember this heated discussion I had with Gerard in this forum, back in August 2007?

    http://forums.cervelo.com/forums/p/21/887.aspx#887

Back then he sure as hell stood by the Wolf SL product! :) When gerard answered my posts so 'forthrightly', I must say I felt quite foolish that I'd even questioned the Wolf SL. It was interesting that even back then he flagged lateral stiffness as a potential issue.

I have no idea and therefore do not comment on whatever the issue is with Wolf SL forks which has caused him and his company to recall them like this - a full year later.

From the looks of it they want all the SL forks back no matter if it is installed correctly or not. Interesting stuff. I thought it was only for the ones that were not installed right but then again the average joe would not have any idea unless he did a x ray on the fork and measured the insert.

Good for Cervelo again for taking charge and doing it right.

Re: Wolf SL being recalled by Cervélo

I have measured the insert on my fork, it is 125mm and my bike was built by cervelo. I'm somewhat tempted to just keep riding it since I'm far from a dealer. Anyone else keeping their fork with a 125mm insert?

get the new fork, its better and you'll know for sure that your fork is ok..... you'd be bummed if it broke when riding.
