My shop told me to bring in the fork, they had a new funda waiting for me. Hardly a "run around".

You want a run around? Try getting a warranty claim on an Italian bike.

We have three Cervelos that needed their forks replaced. It took a couple of days for each and was virtually painless. We were very impressed with the service we got from Conte's in Arlington, Virginia, plus the response from Cervelo.

We didn't even buy our bikes at Conte's, yet they treated us like gods.

Well done to anyone who has managed to get their forks replacement fairly quickly.

After two weeks of waiting for a call back I popped into my LBS in South London/Surrey and they called Madison who distribute them in the UK and they told them it would another week before they got any forks in from Cervelo.

Luckily a friend in the shop pointed out they had a new pair of the 3T Funda Pros on a display bike, so I'm getting mine replaced tomorrow now.

Good luck to anyone still waiting and well done to those who got in there early.

    Phil,

I took my bike there on Sunday the 24th and they still have it.  I hope that it didn't take you that long to get your bikes back.

The first two bikes were done in about 48 to 72 hours, but my wife called a week in advance to set everything up. She's also much cuter than I am.

My second SLC-SL was taken in on Tuesday (9/4/2008), and it'll hopefully be done soon. It's a backup bike, so I'm lucky to have the luxury of not needing it quickly.

My wife's SLC was in long enough to miss one training session. But she rode her P3C that day so nothing was really missed.

I don't have the luxury of owning a single SLC-SL much less 2 of them.  Wouldn't be so bad, but we were up in Bethany Beach when I got the email on the recall so I've been out with it for too long now.  I do have a fixie that I've been riding, but miss my R3.

Correction: I just got off the phone with my wife. She's both cuter and smarter than I, since she apparently took the bike to Bonzai Sports in Falls Church, VA instead of Conte's. When she called, Conte's seemed to be much busier and backed up than Bonzai.

I've always knew about them, but I got my bike from Contes (not that it matters).  They just called me to come pick it up so I guess I'm a lot happier now.

Good luck to you and your wife.

    Happy Riding!

Re: Getting the runaround on Fork Replacement

My experience was quite pleasant thanks to Vince & Jamie at the Racers Edge in Boca Raton Florida.    From grave to heaven in 7 days.   Without the Labor Day holiday, it would have been 6 days.  The 3T is without doubt a better fork for my 58 SLC - lateral stiffness is significantly improved over the Wolf SL.    Tip of the hat to Cervelo for living by the golden rule.

    Cheers,

      Eric

No problem here. I phoned my lbs (Sigma Sport, UK), they gave me an appointment date. Dropped it off 9am, bike done 3pm. I didn't buy the bike from them either. Top job.

I took my R3 to Sammamish Valley Cycle (SVC) in Redmond WA. I did not buy the bike there but they took excellent care of me. I did not experience any runaround from either the shop or Cervelo. It's been my experience that Cervelo ONLY deals with the best shops in the area and that they take care of their customers. This was the case on Cervelos end (remember they didn't have to replace the Wolf Forks) and from Rick Olsen at SVC. What little delay I incurred was worth the wait, both in quality of the 3T fork as well as the safety aspect knowing that my fork won't fail at 50mph going down a mountain.

Dropped my R3 off at my LBS this morning and picking up later today.

I have to say, the 3T Funda Pros do look nice with the same finish as the Wolf forks.

The Easton's also look nice, but the MATT finish and few reports of poor handling makes the slightly heavier & cheaper 3T Funda Pros the choice for me.

The flared forks obviously look different to the Wolf forks, but I'm sure we'll get used to them.

I know the RS forks have different rakes depending on the frame size.  Rake is not listed for R3 , S2, etc. so maybe they're all the same.  Otherwise what are odds of getting the right rake for your bike by swapping one off an existing bike unless it's the same frame size?
