    Stoney:
Congratulations to Simon Gerrans on what would probably be the first victory by a Cervelo Test Team rider in the first day of the Jayco Bay Classic, billed as the world's fastest criterium.

Congratulations to Simon Gerrans from me also! :-)

I like the new Cervélo TestTeam-suit!
    What do you guys think?

    THY:
Cervélo TestTeam has been granted a license from the UCI as a Professional Continental Team and not as a UCI ProTour Team.

Could they be granted a waiver for LeTour?  It seems preposterous that the reigning champ wouldn't get invited back to defend his title (retirements and suspensions aside, of course).

For the first, the Tour de France it is not organized by the Pro-Tour, but by the ASO (So Pro-Tour license doesn't count).
The only thing that can prevent the Cervélo TestTeam to be invited, is that Carlos Sastre (or some others "stars") is taken
for drug use (which I think is highly unlikely).

Hi THY, I think that the TDF has always been organised by ASO, its their race.....they decide who rides, and who doesn't. And always have, although they did disagree with the UCI over it for a couple of years when the UCI tried to interfere and tell them who they had to accept in HEIR race. That's a bit like the UCI telling the Test Team who thay have to have in the Team, which is ok when it is Carlos, Thor, etc, but what if it is Piepoli ???Then not so good....

He is a bad example, but you get my drift???

Now it is back to an agreed entry between the ASO and UCI.

Here to seeing the Test Team in the TDF...

    Peter.

Did Contador ride last year... NO !!!

    Hey Peter.
As I have previously said, I'm pretty sure Cervélo TestTeam will be invited to the Tour de France (see my post above).

In the case of Contador, I think it's entirely his own fault, in my opinion.
Everyone knew that when both Aleksandr Vinokurov and Andrei Kasjetsjkin was taken for drug use, then ASO would never let Astana come back next year. Alberto Contador Velasco knew this, but he still chose to go to them..
Just because of money, so I think Contador is quite happy with his situations.

Personally, I hope Astana would never ever be invited to the Tour. With Contador and Lance Armstrong or not.

Happy birthday from me to Hayden Roulston who turned 28 years the tenth of January.

Does someone know how Simon Gerrans and Hayden Roulston did in the national championships (Time Trial and Road Race)?

Look at Thor Hushovds new bikeshirt ( TeamHushovd.com )!
I think it looks very nice. :)

Thor Hushovd (Cervélo TestTeam, training camp, Robinson Club Quinta da Ria, Algarve, Portugal):
"Then I arrived Portugal, and something new has started. Super happy with the look of the clothes. Looking very good! I feel like a first year pro again. Tomorrow, we are all ready to take on preparation for this season agen."

Just for the record, Vino was found to have someone else's blood, not taking drugs.....

but that is still against the rules, so a minor point.

As far as I am aware, however, Astana had no positive tests last year, had the winner of the Giro and the Vuelta, and are a professional team (now)> Having Lance back is no bad thing, and racing against them (Lance and Alberto) gives the younger riders in the test Team the chance to compete with the best riders, one the best ever, and the other, the best at the moment. Imagine how good it would be if Carlos beat them both.......

Everyone is working hard to have a clean sport. Don't judge Teams on the past...or there would be no Teams in Le Tour.

I have no problems with Contador or Lance Armstrong.
It's the name Astana that bothers me. I just don't want to see the name "Astana" directly or indirectly
in the peloton or in cycling otherwise.

     Not sure about the reasons??

It's the capital of Kazakhstan ????

Hehe, no one has forced you to agree with me, Peter. :-)
I know it's the capital of Kazakhstan, btw!

Remove the sponsorname and remove those people who are behind this concept from the start of.
Then just maybe the team might get back the trust again (at least from me).

The one thing that is missing now, is that Vino returns to the team that he built up for himself..

Just curious....I noticed that 2XU is also a sponsor of the team.  However, the pictures that I have seen of the riders, they are fully dressed with Castelli stuff.  What is 2XU providing?

Probably base layers and such like - maybe arm and knee warmers, socks, overshoes etc too, possibly the odd outer layer or maybe even just stuff to be worn by the team off of their bikes?
