Congratulations!!!  I have not been on my Merlin Agilis since December either.  This R3 SL is just too much fun!

How does your R3 SL differ from your past Soloist?  What made you do the jump?

Looked into the Calfee Dragonly a few months before I placed a down payment on my R3 SL.  They did not really give high reviews about the "quality" of the Cervelo and Orbea frames that they supposedly repair quite a bunch of.  Anyway, their rep never called me back about my inquiries.  I just kept reading stellar reviews about the R3 SL, so I made my choice from then on.  Looks like Calfee's craftsmanship is superb upon viewing your pictures.  How long was the turn around time?  Oh, how do you like those Reynolds wheels?  What are your likes and dislikes about them?

Turn around time was around 3 weeks.  Not bad.  They do high quality work.  The reynolds mv32's are a rockin wheelset!!  Its amazing how fast they spin up.  They came in around 1190 grams for the set.  I picked them up on chainlove.com for about $800.  I picked up a second set I like them so much!!  They were so cheap I couldn't resist :-)

So far no dislikes on the Reynolds.  I like the stiffness, they spin up fast and after 2500 miles, they are still true.

Dont get me wrong, I admire my R3SL and it is a rocket, fast, nimble, quick all those positive attributes you look forward to in a bike at this level. Slow me down. My issue is I find it a bit on the harse side. No let me rephrase that, very harse and not the plush ride I expected after reading numrous raves about the plush ride..

My wheels are Dura Ace 7850 ride at 110lbs, Conti GP attack tires, standard issue 3t bars and stems, Easton EC90 curved fork, Fizik Alliante seat & the Syntace P6 Seat Post. What I am hoping to gain from this thread ( great idea)  is for other riders who may be experiencing the same or advise form other Cycling freaks ideas, thoughts as to what can be done to "soften"up the ride. PS, I did switch from the original 3T fork. Maybe a bike that performs this well is suppose to ride like this? Don't know but would welcome your opinions. I did use a deep dish reynolds wheel and made it softer but too sluggish as a result of the deep dish wheels.

Hmm. Try 100 psi in the tyres, then 90. See if that makes a difference.

As for R3SL pictures, click on Bike 2 below. Maybe I should be calling it Bike 3, and retired the Bike 2 title after my R2.5 was recalled. But then the SLC would have been Bike 3, and you can't have a R3SL as Bike 4 ... although obviously you can have it as Bike 2;  -)

That's too bad you are finding your bike to harsh.  I ride mine with the Mavic Cosmic Carbone with Michelin PRO 3 tires usually at 110 psi.  My fork is the standard 3T Funda.  Seat is a Fizix Arione CX with the Syntace P6 seatpost.  I weight around 137 lbs.  Never have an issue regarding harshness, as a matter of fact, I sometimes aim for manhole covers and road irregularities to be baffled as to how this thing rides over it without much problems.  I actually find my Merlin Agilis being harsh compared to my R3 SL.

Took my bike out for the first time with a long time friend who I've been hiding this bike from for about a month now.  Finally got him to see what this baby can do on the flats and the climbs.  I only got it to go as fast as 42mph on the descent.  This bike is so light that it did not go as fast as my Merlin descending.  NO wobbles whatsoever.  The only thing missing while riding is the blaring music of THE RIDE OF THE VALKYRIES in the background.

Not sure why your R3sl would be "more upright" than your soloist, the frame geometry is identical... sounds like you didnt set them up the same, shorter stem or more spacers.
