    JRS:

i am still having problems with my R3 and campy 11.  Seems like when you tighten the skewers in the back - the rear derailleur actually cants inward at an angle, thus causing shifting problems.  the space between the dropouts is 130 mm (what it's supposed to be), but seems like still something going on.  was wondering if your dropout width was off or something else with the rear end.

Jeff - if the gap between the dropouts is exactly 130mm and they 'squash' in when you tighten the rear wheel skewer could it be that the hub isn't 130mm? It would be worth checking that. If that isn't the case then it would be worth getting your rear derailleur aligned - either at a shop or with a Park DAG-1 tool (it's really easy to do). I had problems in the past with a Campagnolo 10 speed setup (Chorus) where the chain would drag against the derailleur hanger, which I fixed (rather agriculturally) with a 1mm washer between the hub and the frame.

I have not experienced the issue as you describe, but I'm not using the stock derailleur hanger. I installed one from Wheels mfg, which is more robust and a bit stiffer than the stock hangar.

That's interesting. Not sure whether the tolerances have changed between 10 and 11 speed Campagnolo, but makes me wonder whether I should bite the bullet and get a new DH for my 'old' R3. Would make it a little less botched, but then again it works perfectly at the moment so am loath to fiddle further. I will give it a go over winter when I have some time and can test out a new DH on the trainer.

    Thanks,

    Matthew
