    Thailand Cervelo

Hi, looking to buy a cervelo in Thailand. If anyone has any info I'd appreciate it. I've heard they sell them at Bike Station in BKK but after much research I have no clue where it is. Thanks to nayone who can help/

    Hey dav

Not sure if this is the same Bike Station you are looking for but you could try:
    Bike Station
2456 Soi 58, Phathanakan Rd., Suanluang,
    Bangkok 10250
    Tel: 02 722 9999
    E-mail: bikes_station@yahoo.com

Looking at that address i'd say it's a new name for the shop formally known as SiamBike - been there many times and (assuming the staff hasn't changed with the name) a good bunch of guys, at least 1 of the guys speaks excellent English (he worked in Melbourne for a while) and they have awesome prices on Zipp wheels too.

It's on the way out towards the new airport so probably best to take a taxi from On Nut station - unfortunately their old site has closed which is a shame as it had a good map with instructions in Thai to hand to the taxi driver :( Check out this link - it at least has the street name in Thai script - http://bkmagazine.com/place/siam-bike

If you can't get anything in Thailand then you can try the guys at the bike boutique in Malaysia - check it out at http://www.thebikeboutique.com/our-stores.php?store=my

Just a short and cheap Air Asia flight away mate ;)

Just to confirm that this is the correct address for the Bikes station shop. Go there and ask for Mr. Nu and I'm sure that he can help you built your dream cervelo just like mine Good luck, Cheers

    Re: Thailand Cervelo

    Hi All,

I have recently moved to Bangkok and am in the market for an S3. It would be handy to buy it from the Bike Station if:

    1) They're a certified Cervelo dealer. They're not listed on the Cervelo dealer site, and when that frame cracks (wafer thin seat stays) I want it replaced.

    2) Their prices are competitive with other countries.

Can anyone tell me anything about these points?

Also I'd really appreciate any info on the racing scene in Bangkok (road or MTB). Every bike shop says "Yeah, there's heaps of local races, can't tell you where or when they are on". The thaimtb.com site is great if you can read thai..... there's a facebook site that nobody maintains/ answers.......

Would also be great to meet up for a ride - have been going to Hua Hin every weekend just to get a decent ride in.

     Thanks,

    Andrew.

Bike Station have built up tow Cervelo's for me this year. They are the closest you will find in-country that meets your needs. They are also linked in to TBB Singapore.

There are races here, but your best first stop is Rama 9 road from 8am on Sat & Sun. A lot of raodies riding hard. There is another group riding out to Bang Pa In from Chaeng Wattana most weekends.

The next race is a time trial at Rama 9 on the 8th November.

    Hey Rob,

Thanks so much, I really appreciate the info. I'm still quite out of touch with the local scene.

Are you racing down at Rayong in 2 weeks and Phuket in December?

Any chance you're heading out to Rama 9 on Sunday? I can drive there, but don't know the meeting point.

    Andrew.

    Re: Thailand Cervelo

Andrew, I got hit by a pick up truck and crashed quite hard last week (its Thailand - you know the score) so I am out of the races for now. Only damage to the bike is broken handle bars. New 3T's so not happy! The meeting point at Rama 9 is the side road off the motorway towards the airport. Its on the right hand side as you head towards the airport, just over the srinakarin crossroads you need to to an overhead u-turn to get to the other side. The indiactor is the Muslim temple (again on the right hand side). If this is meaningless I will send a google map link on monday. All the best, Rob

    Re: Thailand Cervelo

Hey Rob, Really sorry to hear about your crash. The roads here are crazy - I only do indoor trainer during the week.

I found the meeting point out at Rama 9 no problem thanks. The ride wasn't organised (funny about that being asia), but it still beat the hell out of another couple of hours on the indoor trainer.

Do you know what time the TT starts on Sunday (& the distance)? Not sure if I'll go there or another weekend down Hua Hin.

Thanks, and hope you bounce back quickly.

    Andrew.
