    2010 Sram Force review?

Just wondering if any of our fellow Cervelo owners has had the chance to test ride the new 2010 Sram Force group? Ive got a 2008 SLT with 4000 miles on the drivetrain and was thinking about upgrading from ultegra and the FSA gossamer crank to full Sram Force.  Never been a big fan of the Gossamer crank and the stock cervelo brakes. I think its time for a change. Any thoughts on this Group? How closely related is the new force to red? Is it just the looks of red or is the group on par?

    Thanks

    Justin

Have heard the group is on par with Red, but haven't had the chance to personally test it.

It does look like the 2010 Force has all the benefits of '09 Red and '09 Force combined (and lighter than '09 Red). Was thinking of getting it put on a 2010 S1 (if I ever pull the trigger, or get off the pot (sorry Rock)).

Lighter only if you get it with BB30, which still doesn't work with Cervelo. With standard GXP it's still over 2000 grams for the group, approx 75 grams more than Red with GXP. With Red you get the ceramic bearings in BB and pulley wheels, and titanium front der. cage.

BTW, the new Velonews came out with a crank test of FSA and Sram, still the only cranks available in BB30 and standard, and found the BB30 cranks marginally stiffer, but 100 grams lighter in BB30 version.

I'm sure it will be good. A lot of people on my team are using Force and really love it. I'm going with Sram next instead of Shimano.

If you get the S1 with Force I'd put on a Force crank instead of the FSA. Still amazed Cervelo is using the FSA gossamer. Mine has been nothing but a big pain in the behind.

They must save a lot of money with the gossamers.  I'm so glad I don't have one.

From one Justin to another =] I bought my 2010 Cervelo S1 with SRAM option about 3 weeks ago. Here are my few rants. The FSA cranks are getting upgraded within 1-2 more weeks im just sick of them. Crappy shifting, Heavy, not stiff, ETC The Fulkrum wheelset has that noisy freewheel (not cervelos fault) other then that its a great set the red hubs are so clutch with the bikes paint. Other then that this bike is effing incredible. I am really stoked on it. -Justin

    Re: 2010 Sram Force review?

When I read the spec for the 2010 S1 with Force option, I decided to just buy the '09 frame (which I preferred anyway and was discounted to make way for the 2010), and get the full Force group. I also upgraded the wheels to Ksyrium Elites. The bike weighs in at 16.5 lbs, and I couldn't be happier with the performance.
