Morning, ish everyone
For those of you living in London i'm sure you have seen the signs about having bikes removed from railings. I heard on a TV show the other day that people renting or owning these buildings have the right to have bikes removed from said railings if they like. Seems an odd law do you not think? Although there are a places to chain bikes up, they are hardly that secure when it comes to a £3k bike. Railings have that wonderful property of being quite difficult to saw through. Especially if you weave your bike lock through them
Having only owned a Cervelo for less that a year, i'm still in that 'Honeymoon' period, where i wouldn't leave it out of sight for fear of it being stolen or abused or even touched !! ; )
I'd love to ride my S1 more, it really is a dream to ride. Having it away for a few days and having to ride my 2006 Giant OCR was a change, but once i got back on the S1 it was like night and day. I sometimes feel that i'm not getting enough out of it with just weekend rides or after work rides. I do a fair few miles but still, i does feel like it sits there more than i ride it.
So the point... Well, on my number 17 bus route to work i see a Cervelo Soloist Carbon, or at least it looks like; chained to railings on the corner of Acton Street WC1. It surprised me to see such an nice bike chained to railings, with possibly the chance that it would be removed. I've only seen 3 guys riding Cervelo bikes actually outside of a bike store. One, an earlier red and grey Soloist Carbon riding through Crouch end(where i live), two, the black Soloist Carbon chained to the railings and three, the S1 i ride.
So i'm thinking about riding mine a few days to work. How many of you ride your bike as 'everyday' bikes rather than as 'road' or 'race' bikes. What locks do you use and what would you recommend using, also it's good to see a Cervelo rider who is close by where i work. So whoever you are, nice bike : )
