    SRAM Red 2010 groupset

     Hi there

Upgrading my TT bike to SRAM Red 2010 groupset. The guy from the store offered me the groupset without the ceramic Bottom Brackets. He will use the GXP Team Bottom Bracket. I hhink that is just made of steel. Any thoughts about this? The price will be much lower but is the performance the same?

     many thanks for your suggestions.

    cheers

if you need to some seconds off of your TT time, go with ceramic bearings. personally, i wouldn't spend the money on them, though. i'd rather spend the money on other nice gear.

    thanks for your answers

basically I will use the bike for some training and 3 olympic triathlons and a 70.3 in august for this year. based on your answers, ceramic BB are maybe only relevant for the pros, where seconds counts. for a non pro like me, the normal ones will suffice, right?

    thanks

    cheers

personally, yeah, i only think the pros really need them. with the money i'm saving going with campy chorus instead of campy record (about $600), i'll be able to pick up a set of race wheels which will give a bigger performance boost :) (i'll end up spending about $1200 on race wheels). if you already have race wheels and an aero helmet, and/or if money's no object to you, then go with ceramic.

Do anybody have problems taking off the rear wheel from SRAM RED? The rear deraileur of Red is very narrow..

I drove before Shimano Ultegra and it was very easy to take off rear wheel...

     Any opinion?

    Re: SRAM Red 2010 groupset

     Hi there

Just got back my bike. The guy from the store upgraded to the SRAM Red 2010 Groupset. How do I determine, that it is really the 2010 Groupset? I have a 2009 R3 bike with the 2009 groupset, and they look identical. Hmmm?

     Thanks

There is no difference with the 2009/2010 Red groupsets just people like make their setup "sound better" by being current. I would be surprised if actual 2010 made SRAM Red stock is in the market as I would imagine most stock floating around will be 'made' in 2008 or 2009 - you can spot this by looking at the serial and build number on each part.

Now, developing a problem where the chain slips off the top pulley. I've had to reset it by hand a few times.
