Okay, fellas. When the bike was weighed it had my other set of Eastons: the EA90 SLX. Those EA70s are for everyday training. I also have full ceramic bearings throughout, including the der. pulleys. Maybe the scale was off, but the bike is quite light, even compared to full carbon frames. I still like alumnium, though. Nonetheless, it's still a Cervelo. There the best bikes in the world, right!

wow!!! what a friendly bunch, I have an R3 with all sorts of light components on, I have gone to zero gravity brakes and have a set of custom wheels that come in at 1200g and my bike totals 15.6lbs. I see others with what would be very similar set-up, and you don't see me chiming in with a: "Ya right! whatever, sure it weighs 12 lbs". In any case, It's the engine that makes it go fast, though the bike does help. Let's all be supportive of each other. It's hard enough being part of a fringe sport that requires quite a financial commitment, as well as time. Now let's ride and apreciate each others bikes. Ohhh, wait I feel a thread about my spelling comming on,Hahahahahahahah ;)

I agree, this never-ending thread has been almost universally positive to date. A nice change from the combative grumpiness of forums like RoadBikeReview, where every second person is "Mr Grumpy" "the Grumpster" "RetroGrouch" etc. This is a safe haven from criticism... that's what wives and husbands (who don't cycle) are for. Group Hug... continue.

That's why they call them "weight wennies". Maybe I should sell my rig and buy a Ridley or a Califee. Humm.

Not sure if this worked, but here's my recently bought dream machine - white R3, Fulcrum Red/Black Racing Zeros, Dura Ace all round, ceramic jockey wheels and Mega Exo bottom bracket, FSA white bar/stem, Stella Azzura Eleganza bar tape......you get the picture! Im sooooo happy with it!

Hey seven.62 - have you tried flipping the top of the seat post around so it is in a time trial configuration (given that you have tri bars)?  I have mine permanently in the TT (forward) position so I can get more aero.  I still find it's OK on hills - lots of hills where i ride.

I envy those beautiful SLTs. I wish we had a distributor here in the Philippines. The taxes will kill me if I have them shipped here :(

I have a second seatpost/saddle for that. But I've ridden upright and climbed with that setup before during solo rides (non-TT's), but I felt a bit cramped, too upright and too close to the cockpit. I actually feel less aero that way compared to riding in "road" setup (given I'm riding on the hoods). Maybe it's my 6 ft frame or I have goofy arm/leg length. It just doesn't work too good for me. So I'll stay in the aero position with a TT setup for the most part.

^ looks like an amalgamation of the R3 seatstays with the SLC-SL hmmmmm  sounds like a response to Felts AR1  and Ridley's new Noah he he he he he....nothing like innovation from competitors to make Cervelo change its 3 year old design.
