Thanks.

this may be a stupid question but I'll ask it anyway. I have a 2009 S2 (which, obviously has internal cables) and was wondering if you have to remove bar tape to replace the cables? Or if they will just find their way through the outer and under the tape

Without Loctite they were not a press fit in the frame, but the fit was not loose enough to be felt when I move the cups by hand, but when I installed the crank, the cups would visibly move maybe 0,02 mm (I'm a helicopter technician and am used to identifying small amounts of play). After gluing with Loctite 609 they seemed tight, though, and I thought it was good to go.
..........
Now, several weeks later, I just had my first ride on the bike, and noticed that the left cup had come loose from the frame. It feels exactly like I remember. Not loose enough to be felt when I just manipulate the cup, but if I use the leverage of the crank arms, the cups move visibly. Removing the cup revealed what lokoed like unhardened loctite, which is just weird after several weeks. I have used the same loctite on other projects with good results. I suspect the frame surfaces are slightly conical, and the gap on the inside surface is too large for it to harden properly, and the outer edge of the BB hole is tight. There is no wear of the surfaces on the frame or cup as I discovered it immediately.
..........
Reading the forum I get the impression that the cups should be a tight press fit in the frame, but mine were only tight enough that I could pull the cups out again by hand with little difficulty. I will try to glue the cup back in the frame, and will borrow some 7471 primer from work to stimulate the hardening process and increase the strength.
..........
Should I be concerned that the cup wasn't a very tight fit in the frame?

Funny

It is funny to see a small company (by employees) like cervélo coloring their website with a few clicks by the webmaster, to celebrate their team. Basically, the aluminium bit in the top of the post with the hole in it that the seat head slots into has come loose from the carbon (the seat head is the bit that clamps to the seat rails which on the Soloist can be flipped between a TT or normal road position). This means that even with the bolt in the back of the post done up freakin tight-as, the seat head and hence the seat rock backwards & forwards a few millimetres which is noisy and annoying. I've been jamming small bits of brass between the aluminium bit and the inside wall of the carbon post, but that fix does not last long.

Before forking out hundeds of $'s on a new seatpost, I was wondering if there was any type of glue I could squeeze into the gap to bond the aluminium to the carbon. Obviously, this will need to be a very strong bond.

Garden shed broken into and a 54cm Cervelo Soloist and 54cm P3C with zipp 404's and power tap hub stolen.

So many great rides all over the the world on my Cervelos including 13 Ironman distance triathlons (Canada, United States, Spain, Germany, UK, South Africa) and what was going to by Austria this year. Not to worry I am still going to Austria - just need to find a new Cervelo - if only I could get my hands on a P5 in time.

Not only have I had incredible bikes from Cervelo over the past 15 years, their service has been impeccable! I remember living in Toronto Canada and getting my first ever Cervelo P2 aluminum frame in 1997 when Cervelo was small enough to actually grant my request of running my P2 frame in the P1 blue paint line because white wasn't fast enough (I was the only one in the country with a nice shiny new Blue P2). Or better yet, when I was in Phuket, Thailand 2005 only realising that I forgot that ever so special P2 seat post bolt when I took my bike apart. Not only did Cervelo engineers email me precise descriptions on how I might be able to use some duck tape to fashion a makeshift solution (and I do mean precise as in cut 8 strips x 8" long x 2" wide and wrap around 3 times), but they also helped me track down a Singapore dealer who was on their way to Phuket and a new seat post was brought with them. I actually made it around the course!

More recently I managed to get Ironman #10 by the age of 40 - this time on my beloved P3C which has been in more countries than a lot of people!

Having been in the United Kingdom for the past five years and seeing Cervelos all over the television in professional bike races including Zabriske's Tour de France former record it made me proud to point out to my friends that Cervelo is a CANADIAN company.

Cervelo - thanks for being more than just a great bike!

Now time to sort out what the hell I am going to be riding in 7 weeks time at Ironman Austria!
Tested it with a compact set-up, but they changed the rings on the stock FSA cranks to 52/38 fsa rings.
Salt is not so much of a problem, and I'm starting to ride it. I'm getting chain rub on the 52 ring when running 38/12, 38/13 and 38/14.
Of course cross-chaining is bad, but I've always streched the envelope and quite enjoy the 39/13 on my 9 speed.
I'm a little dumbfounded on the rub on the 13 and 14 cogs. I essentially have no need for front derailleur trim any more.
So,
1. Is the chain rubbing on 38/13 and/or 38/14 normal on the bike with these cranks/rings?
2. If you've had the same problem, did you fix it, and how?
3. If it's not normal, what do you think is going on?
Thanks,

It's such an amazing bike I hope to take my training up a notch with this bike.

Quick question about the new carbon cockpit. I was fit on a 51 and everything feels great on the bike except for the width of the aero bar pads. My shoulders are wider than the stock width of the new cockpit is happy with so it feels a little bit squished. This new setup does not have any adjustment for the width in the mount, but does have different holes in the pads to move them out. However, they are already set at their widest. Does anyone know if there is a larger pad or some sort of shim to move these pads further apart? After spending this much on the bike I'd rather not have to drop a bunch more money down on a new cockpit.

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It has what is pictured here, the preload adjuster and a 5ish mm spacer between the preload adj and the left crank arm. From searches about the spacer it seems that many come without the spacer and I can't see anywhere that it is sold separately. Any suggestions? Help!

I thought I had seen someone on this forum with a R3 that had been retrofitted somehow to accommodate all the cables internally.

Can someone shed light on this for me?

I'm looking for an FSA SL-K BBright or and FSA K-Force Light BBright. I'm not sure it's okay to post buy/sell on this forum (I have not seen much of it), so if not I apologize. Not interested in using the adapter. Please let me know if you have a take-off available.
