Man, that Gerolsteiner taught these guys some bad habits.

Hopefully Heinrich Haussler didn't pick up any tips from these guys.

Why don't the Tour organizers and/or UCI use WADA (World Anti Doping Agency)?

I know why don't they use WADA, I think WADA should get a lot more power!

AFLD says incongruous products found during 2009 Tour

From the article "AFLD President Pierre Bordry stated that he had "signalled this [the discoveries] to the World Anti-Doping Agency as soon as July", but Olivier Rabin, science director at WADA, denied receiving the information when asked by AFP in September."

Something stinks. What a joke. These anti-doping guys can't seem to get their act together, and the dopers are laughing on the sidelines. It looks like doping control is more about turf wars and power struggles than preventing cheating. What a shame. Also, you would think cycling teams would be more careful about how they dispose of their "trash".

This Hans-Micheal Holczer dude should be banned from the sport. Kohl, Schumacher, De Bonis, now Zberg - all his riders - have been caught. Why do only the riders have to pay the price? Does cycling want to get serious or not? Get rid of the dirty managers and directors! There will never be fool-proof evidence like with a positive drug test, but these riders are their responsibility. They have to be held accountable.

This doesn't surprise me. The French hate winners (unless, of course, they're French).

Too many cooks in the kitchen and a jumble of alphabet soups - OCLAESP, AFLD, UCI, WADA ... testing, monitoring and investigating while refusing to cooperate with each other.

    Re: Doping!

An Armstrong fan on the Velo News forum put together all of AFLD's abortive attempts to nail riders, usually Armstrong/Astana this year; these sore losers never give up:

    1. AFLD tester claims in early March that LA broke protocol by disappearing while the tester's credentials were checked. They later drop those charges.

    2. AFLD announces October 4 that up to 40 riders are under suspicion from '08 Tour de France and their results will be retested. They later say all tests are normal.

    3. AFLD claims on October 6 that the lack of positive tests at the '09 Tour de France is not normal and that they will develop tests for two mystery substances.

    4. AFLD claims on October 5 that the UCI gave preferential treatment to Astana during testing at the '09 Tour. Instead of bringing their concerns privately to the UCI, their testing partner, they blast them in a press conference.

    5. AFLD announces on October 11 that Astana's medical waste from the '09 Tour will be tested for illegal drugs.

I have a theory: AFLD president Pierre Bordry is really a woman and just had her period!

This is just ridiculous, as I said it before, and I'll say it again, give WADA more power to control things!

War of Words Over War On Doping

A good analysis by Cyclingnews. Bordry acts like an ambitious politician. AFLD has destroyed its reputation with the constant leaks to the press. This has been going on for years, at least to when the retroactive testing of the 2000 Tour samples was leaked in 2005. Does AFLD have a board of directors? Time to give Bordry the heave-ho.
