    Magnus Bäckstedt has retired.

    I meant, language. :-)
I meant if you could confirm what I said, was consistent with the video I linked to.

Ahh... I have a crappy internet connection and couldn't quite play the video, but will try to have enough patience to let it buffer now. Get right back to ya :-)

    Get Kurt and Edvald.

Thats all there is in your choices.  Edvald can still be had by a bargain even if his price has increased.  He can only get stronger.  A probable future star in the mold of Boonen/Cancellara Flahute type but can develop into a GC.

Yeah he says that his contract exceeds this season, and that the reason that he's not in the TdF this time is that he doesn't want to have a role in the Cavendish "ride for green show". The only thing he could to for Mark this year would be to ride hard on the flats and that's not something he'd want to do being a GC kind of guy, he said.

Still no prospects for next year, but isn't that what all the pros say at this point of the season? :-)

    Thanks!

    Exceeds? Are you sure?
My contact, who sent me the link (I trust him) said that the contract expires this year..

Gérard Vroomen about Thor Hushovd - I think he is one of the most underrated riders in the peloton!

Sorry... expires of course. Just got the expressions wrong there... After all it IS in the middle of the night here right now and my brain doesn't seem to function properly. Which remind me... work in less than five hours :-/

    Re: New Riders

On Velonews.com, there's a story, "Contador to Garmin?", that repeats rumors in the Spanish press that Alberto is talking to Vaughters. So maybe this F1 team (Santador/Renault) won't happen? The story also mentioned at the end that Garmin lost out to CTT in a bidding war for Sastre last year, something I wasn't aware of. Gee, and I thought that Carlos went to CTT 'cause he loves the bikes so much! Silly me! ;-)

Andreas Kloden maybe? Not sure if Armstrong has plans to add him to his new squad... Strong TT, good (but not outstanding) climber, good team player, wealth of experience.

It's going to be interesting to see who Radio Shack manages to grab.  I hope they get Kloden, Levi and maybe Horner.  As far as CTT, I really miss seeing Cancellara on a Cervelo.  It just doesn't seem right seeing him on a Specialized.  Otherwise, I like the CTT squad as it is.  I think they have done well for a new team and have managed to get a lot of talent.  I hope they signed them for more than one year.

    Re: Riders in/out

We need lead-out men for Thor, although Arvesen and Boasson Hagen would certainly make him happy. (and me :D ) He'll have friends in the team, which will lift the team moral ;) And they're brilliant riders, Arversen is one of the most helpful riders there is, and Edvald is probably the worlds biggest fighter talent right now. - Stack up on great talents that are cheap, and get some lead out men, we've got Thor, Carlos and Heinrich which can be the stars, now we need amazing helpers, like Cavendish had this year, however, I feel Heinrich has to help Thor more, didn't look like he helped out that much.. - more focus on Thor in stages he can win, more focus on Carlos in the mountain stages! I'd bet that Kloden and Horner go with Armstrong, not so sure about Levi. He still has Tour de France ambitions. Garmin or Columbia would be a better fit for Leipheimer. CTT needs time trialing help, but that will be hard to come by, with two and maybe three new Pro Tour teams. With the TTT back in the Tour, the good time trialers will gravitate to the powerful teams.

I saw an interview on Eurosport with Armstrong where he said something like "nobody's signed but some of them are no secret: Levi, Kloden". Think he said someone else but can't remember who.

    Re: Riders in/out

An excellent analysis on Contador's options and RadioShack's likely makeup in Velonews article ("Where will Contador Land?"). Leipheimer, Horner, Kloden, Popovych, Zubeldia, Vaitkus, and Brajkovic are most likely going with Bruyneel and Armstrong. Contador is going to find the pickings slim. Santador/Renault will most likely not happen this year, Astana is now under the control of Vino, Garmin or Caisse D'Epargne could sign him if they get another co-sponsor to help out. He needs to go with Garmin, I think, another good time-trialing team. There aren't many of those.

More rumors from various outlets (Velonews, Cyclingnews) have RadioShack in talks with Andy Schleck (but not Frank), Brice Feillu, and George Hincapie!

    Re: Riders in/out

CTT needs to bring on a big $$ co-sponsor, sign Contador and Cancellara and capitalize on one year's worth non-stop media coverage of the Lance/Pistolera feud.
