  • Re: Maximum weight limits

I am my club's pet grizzly bear... have been as heavy as 248 but spend most of my time in the 235 lbs range. The R3 does great. No weight issues that I have ever perceived...  My Zipp 101's have failed just as described in the thread above... But I have also had Chris Kings fail, so I think that with enough miles you will ...

I use Zipp 101s with 25mm tires on my 2012 R3 and have no clearance issues.

  • Re: Wonder where Cervélo stands on this subject...

At the speed the peleton rides the aero disadvantages of discs are just too large to overcome. Unless they change the rules to require all teams to use disk brakes I do not think it will happen. It would be like adding restricter plates in NASCAR. In one stroke of the pen they would slow the race down, improve braking and encourage innovation. ...

  • Re: Brainwashing techniques for significant other

You have to perfect the art of well timed optimism and despair. You must train constantly to "keep up with your friends that have superior bikes and equipment..." and then you must show that after the group ride you are despondent and utterly without hope because you could not keep up with "those guys on the R3s" and how ...

Great article. I don't see how they will overcome the aerodynamic disadvantage of disc breaks.
