  • Re: Indoor Trainer?

LBSs are a great source of misinformation. The explanation offered to you makes no sense. The torque  placed on the carbon fiber while riding on a stationary trainer is identical to that placed on the road, except without the bumps and cornering forces, which are much more severe on the road. So, if you believe that nonsense, you should not ...

  • Re: Getting the runaround on Fork Replacement

My shop told me to bring in the fork, they had a new funda waiting for me. Hardly a "run around". You want a run around? Try getting a warranty claim on an Italian bike.

  • Re: 3T fork?

It's better. I've just been using mine for a week, it's stiffer. The steerer is much stronger, the tubing is thicker.

  • Re: Indoor Trainer?

An indoor trainer will not cause damage to a bike, the forces are minor compared to riding on the road.  I ride 5 days/wk, 1-2hrs/day all winter (jan-march) on Spinervals DVDs -that's 53X12 sprints and 155 rpm spinning in easy gears. It's hardly boring, unless you just spin around 100rpm straight in an easy gear watching TV, which is ...

  • Re: Wolf SL being recalled by Cervélo

You are misunderstanding the manual. You cannot exceed 80mm, and 10mm of insert must extend below the top headset bearing. This means a typical 30mm of spacers, whether they are below or above the stem doesn't matter. However, if you have 30mm spacers below the stem, then add another 20mm above the stem for no good reason, there is ...

  • Re: Wolf SL being recalled by Cervélo

Sage, the whole reason for the Wolf recall is people setting up their forks like in that picture, which is incorrect. The steerer tube should be as short as possible, without any visible above the stem. The glued insert needs to extend as far as possible below the headset top bearing. From what I've read about the SL failures and seen in ...

  • Re: Wolf SL being recalled by Cervélo

Alex, the Wolf SL is made in exactly the same factory in China that makes many name-brand forks, including two of the brands you mention. And yes, none of those other companies make their own forks, they just brand them.

  • Re: Indoor Trainer?

True story, the engineer behind the Kurt Kinetic is the same one who designed the cyclops trainer. The cyclops were having trouble with leaking, due to an inherent design flaw using an o-ring. He then designed the KK and patented it, sold the patent on the cyclops, who just added an extra o-ring.  Brilliant design, it cannot leak, ...

  • Re: Gerard: where are you when I need you?

You guys need to contact Cervelo directly, by email or phone, and give them a chance to accommodate you before running off to the internet. Complaining on forums is pretty futile.
