  • Re: Cervelo Warranty WTF?

Assuming that you are the original owner, and that you have isolated that the fault is not because of flexy wheels, then the best course of action is to video tape the instances of it failing (rubbing).  This would be undeniable proof that something is wrong.  You can either take it up directly with Cervelo or your distributor because ...

Check this out http://luckynino.blogspot.com/2009/03/eclipse-mtb-supertube-56g.html I wonder how strong it really is.  If it ever comes to market then it would be worth a try.

  • Re: Tubeless

I use to run tubulars with Stans latex solution.  The angry nail went through the tread and sidewall.  It sealed the hole in the tread area but not on the sidewall for long before leaking again.  Then I had to call a taxi home as I was not carrying a spare.  I also got rid of the tubulars after that. This also happend on MTB ...

  • Re: Tubeless

Having used tubeless before I have not been a fan of them myself. However I do like the puncture sealants out there. Sealant Alex G - The solution exiting the tyre carries the particles that plug the holes. It is the medium that carries the particles. When the tyre is spinning so fast it should naturally coat quite evenly before it pools. It ...

  • Re: Tubeless

Some interesting points here: 1) Puncture resistance - this is because of the solution (sold by many manufacturers now) which can also be injected into bicycle tubes to have the same effect. 2) Tubeless MTB - Has benefits for MTB as you can reduce pressure without the risk of pinched flats.  That stated, if you ride so little pressure then ...

  • Re: Type of carbon used on frames?

Raymond - interesting bit about "mis-information".  During prototyping/design misinformation is obviously used by some companies but when a consumer buys something based on the actual relaeased marketing materials, and if that is deliberately misleading, then that company would contravene trade practices laws.  Good luck to ...

  • Re: Type of carbon used on frames?

I agree that design and CF layup is important but all big manufacturers would be on a similar footing.  They all have access to FEA and wind tunnels.  It is just a matter of who is willing to spend. My curiosity was raised by the issues encountered by BB area cracks appearing and some other damage raised in threads in this ...

  • Type of carbon used on frames?

Out of curiosity, does anybody know what type of carbon is use on the SLC/S2?  I know that other companies such as Giant and Pinarello are proud to advertise the carbon used on their frames.  Naturally it is difficult to verify the strength and qualities of the carbon (unless someone compares them).  Obviously there is a ...

  • Re: To the girl on the S2 at the Sydney Spring Cycle yesterday...

Ain't it always the case that you see something that catches your eye (cyclist/joggers) but you later regret not having a conversation.  Well, I hope you end up making contact!  I find that I am less inhibited when I am travelling.  I personally like all Euro chicks (so much friendlier than local girls).

  • Re: P4 Brakes

I don't own a P4 but it sounds strange that brakes work one minute then fail.  Roadie brakes are very simple devices.  Brakes either work or they don't.  It's just a simple mechanical device. The other contributing factors are that something has come loose, cable stretch, too much heat or pad wear.  ...
