I have an R3 and use it for training and racing and cover many thousands of miles a year in places such as Majorca, the Alps and the Pyranees and have used Cont Gp's and Michelin Pro tyres mainly. For the last three years I have used the Michelin PRO3 which was superb. However when the PRO 4 came out I thought I would give it a try. I recall reading somewhere that people seems to be getting more punctures with this tyre, but it wasn't until I fitted them that I found out how true that was. It may just be coincidence that I have had numerous punctures since I fitted them, but I wonder if anyone else has had similar experience of the PRO4.On the plus side they roll beautifully and corner like a dream even in the wet.

    Re: tyres

for me it was just the other way round PRO3 lots of cuts and slices (never wore one out though) the PRO4 very resistant to cuts and slices, worn out 2 at the rear (about 4000 kms each)

find the 4's a bit less supple

have you got the regular or the comp (=lighter) version ?

Hi GTI,  I have the Service Course which is the regular version, although I was amazed at just how supple it was, more like the Comp. It's a breeze to put on and take off.

Used Mich Pro4 Serv Course and I did not get 2,000 miles out of the rear. Not to mention too many punctures. Switched to Conti GP4000s and not looking back. Yet to puncture these.

I have a little over 3000 km on new Pro4 Service Course this year. No punctures, rides fine, good grip. I can't complain about these tyres and would buy them again.

I've been using Mich Pro 4 for about 2,000kms, no punctures as yet, but my rear tyre has a cut. The tube is slightly bulging out...I have read that the sidewalls of Pro 4 are not as strong and its true in my case.
