    Re: Cervélo 2015

Actually, we haven't planned the final artwork for coming seasons. We did do a special paint job for riders at the Tour this year (pictured in this thread). Not everyone jumped at the opportunity as some riders just don't like switching bikes part way through the season. Even pro riders get attached to their R5s. That said, what do you folks think of the new graphic? It is a bit of a departure from the past...

I think it looks good. I'd prefer that over the matte "grey" of 2013/2014.

This is just my opinion and going by that picture above.

If anything maybe the red on the top tube could be bit darker matching the 3T stem red and maybe the "Cervelo" graphic on the fork with the same darker red. Could be the clear coat that is making the red look lighter or the picture is making it lighter.

I'd still get it if I didn't have an R5 already!

To be honest it doesn't really float my boat, but am glad to see the solid matte grey/black trend is hopefully going the way of avocado green and harvest gold appliances.

EDIT: Has Cervelo ever considered polling it's fan base for color schemes (besides the one-off in this thread)? If you're down to a handful of final color schemes, I can safely say most of us would be delighted to have a vote!

+1 I also like the red/black combo, however think that the colour design/lines need some refinement. The way these colours are laid out on the frame makes it look like some sort of a prototype frame vs. the final product...

I really like this approach to colour. There's a kind of wholeness and purity to it. It doesn't resort to gimmicks and distracting patterns and streaks. I could see the top tube as white, grey, silver or dark blue. It also works with the mavic wheels and 3T components. I also really love the colour of the 2014 R5. As the saying goes..less is more.

Well, for the sake of interest, let's test that theory... on this thread! It is definitely an idea we have toyed with.

Agreed, red and black go great together, it's just the scheme is too geometrically simplistic for me personally.  IMO the 2014 S3 seemed to strike a good balance of being bold without being gaudy. Also I wouldn't mind seeing more of the blues and greens from years past :)

    Agreed!

@David, The best paint scheme I have seen lately is that green/black P5 you showed us at BTF. Possibly that pattern would be appealing on the R5 using the red/black. Although, the green/black would be a nice variation.

I don't think we will ever see that p5 as a production paint that must have been a nightmare to paint

I keep hoping for a full production Cervelo that will easily accommodate 28mm tires front and rear and it keeps not happening...

Apparently I'm in the minority but I prefer the matte black of the S5 and limited edition S2. The all-black S2 is so stunning it makes me want to get the grey on my S5 painted black.

Does Cervelo still sell the R3 MUD edition? Team Garmin-Sharp will be riding those tomorrow on the cobbles.
