    SRAM Red 22 BB30, Press Fit 30

Good morning - so correct me if I am wrong, but if the BBRight standard is a 30mm axle and SRAM Red 22 crankset comes in a BB30 and or Press Fit 30 option, then there would be no adapters needed? Thanks

I just installed one on my 2018 R5. It does require adapters just check the SRAM service site for the needed adapters. Perfect fit btw...

Red 22 Quarq or just a red 22 crank? Because as has been covered multiple times on this forum, the regular red 22 crank bb30 has too short a shaft to fit bbright. Only the Quarq version fits. https://forums.cervelo.com/forums/t/9588.aspx

I must've missed that thread, but according to the SRAM installation .pdf, it should fit and it makes no differentiation to quarq or non quark, only 30mm spindle. And apologies by adapters I mean how when BBright came out there were only a few options and adapters were needed to install them. I know it will have spacers, etc just like my Rotor crank has. In fact in the pdf it shows the set up very similar to how my Rotor goes on, the difference is on the nonDS were I have that collar whereas this will have spacers. As always thanks for the input.

I checked that thread out and the last entry was around 5 years ago. The pdf I looked at was more recent than that so I think I'll go with the pdf rather than a 5 year old thread. That being said I will be calling SRAM tech support and consulting with my LBS just to make sure but it really does seem like maybe this will work.

Well, I guess I'll just call SRAM today and follow up with my mechanic to figure it all out. As the earlier poster said they just did it on their 2018 R5 so who knows maybe the information is outdated or maybe it's not. Either way I'll let ya know what the outcome is and always I appreciate the input.

I would post a pic of my R5 but can’t figure it out. Get the longer spindle crank. It requires a 15mm spacer that you can get online of from your LBS as well as two washers that come with the crank and the wave washer. Again, SRAM has actual photos of the type Of spacers needed for every frame setup on their website (that’s what I used ) Fits perfectly! It obviously works because they sell the bikes pre-built from the factory with SRAM BB30 cranks...

Exactly, I just got off the phone with SRAM tech support and it does work. In fact if you look at the specs on the new S5 and the P5X they have full SRAM eTap with the red crank. So obviously if a complete bike comes built with, it will work.

Re: SRAM Red 22 BB30, Press Fit 30

Well....sort of. If you look carefully at the pictures of the S5 and P5X, you will see that the crank supplied is in fact a Quarq Prime Power Ready crankset (if you zoom in you can see a "Q" on the spider), which has a removable spider to allow easy conversion to a quarq power meter crank. See the picture below: https://www.quarq.com/power-ready/#sm.001rn9p0u11z4cw9t3i2q6nnpr1xe This crank, as stated on the Quarq website is only available as original equipment install only. They are not sold separately. The retail version of the SRAM Red crankset has the integrated spider and crankarm, and it thus has the short shaft which is not compatible with BBright.

Well as it turns out I did in fact order the crankset that did in fact have the long spindle. This shouldn’t be that difficult. Order the crankset, ensure that it has the long spindle, get the 15mm spacer and install it in your B.B. Right frame. Just did it a month or so ago on a 2018 R5 disc frameset that I built up with etap.

Please give details of exactly what crank you ordered and from where. As I said, they are not available other than OEM.

The Red BB30 crank pictured on their website is not compatible with BBright. In the description the compatibility list does not include BBright. Would be great to see a picture of what you have.
