    Broken frame (warraty)

    Hello everybody.

The other day I was riding my S5, and I started feeling the bike "braking" I thought that it could be the brake pads, I slow down but that was right.

     I saw this:

The seat post was hurting the frame until it broke. I got the bike at the shop, I hope warranty will work.

Any idea or experience like that??? I need help

Simply put, it's the shops fault. The procedure (in the frame manual) is to chamfer cut the corner of the seatpost bottom once the correct height is determined. As well, carbon paste and proper clamp torque prevent slippage. If this isn't done, then any slippage will cause the corner of the post to wear through the frame. I am also sure you were hearing a lot of creaking noises while this was happening over the course of your riding. Lesson to be learned is if you hear noises like this they should be investigated before the damage is done.

I heard this happened before on this forum but I cant remember if Cervelo covered it under warranty. Hopefully your LBS has a good relationship with there rep. But yes your LBS was suppose to cut the post on a angle as the owners manual says.

Goodboyr. I just put a new seat post into my R3. Do I need to cut the bottom in an angle? Is that what's meant by chamfer?

You don't need to do that on the R3. Only S5

Yup. Not applicable to round posts. Only the aero ones.
