    Awwww......dangnabbit!

Well, this just plain sucks. :(

It looks like I killed my S2 on a training ride last night. I avoided a manhole / sewer grate but caught a pothole instead...chain did a funny bounce and somehow caught on the chainring (possibly a bolt or ramp, but still, wth!?!?!) causing a very bad chainsuck. Took a big chunk out of my chainstay. Tap test says this is more than just the surficial layer of carbon. :( :( :(

Anyone know of approved repair companies in western Canada? I know it won't be done in time for this year's Ride to Conquer Cancer (grrr!!!!!), but the frame has treated me well so I'm hoping to save it.

I believe Bow Cycle uses and recommends Roberts Composites in Vancouver. It is based on a comment I saw on Strava from one of the owners from a while ago. I can't find the comment but the website is what I remember when I looked them up at the time. http://www.robertscomposites.com/

    Re: Awwww......dangnabbit!

     Hi all,

Well, Dynamic Composites in Edmonton seems to be the folks that the local shops use....good reputation with other products. I'll likely look into them when I have a few more dollars and timeline isn't an issue (only 4 weeks until this year's Ride to Conquer Cancer....my 10th).

For the time being, I've found myself a frame to use (not a Cervelo....for some reason my attempts to contact them didn't garner a response this time, which seems unusual). When I get my S2 repaired and built up again, I'll likely return...until then, I'll likely be a little more scarce as I probably won't have a lot I can add to the conversations.

    TTFN, I guess...

    Mike
