Shimano standard for double road cranks is 43,5mm .. since there are no special disc cranks ore bbs the standard should be the same ..

That's encouraging, but makes me question why Rotor offers an Aldhu offset spindle for 46mm chainline, and why the new Easton Ec90 crank also has 45 (2x) chainline. Both the Rotor and the Easton say they are for 142 rear spacing on 11 spd disc. Perhaps I misunderstand exactly what "chainline" is or the importance of a 2.5mm difference. I understand also that the newer Shimano Ultegra and Dura-ace Di2 (8070 & 9170) are supposed to be more tolerant of less than ideal chainlines, but don't want to stress the system unnecessarily if I don't have to, nor do I want to spend $$ on a crankset that I'll have to swap if the shifting is bad. Perhaps the 2018 R3 disc chainline (at 43.5) is helped out by the slightly longer chainstays? Anyone with more information to offer would be much appreciated. Thanks for reading
