    Cervelo Warranty

Just want to share my experience with the Cervelo community as after riding my R5 2014 for 6 years and about 35 000 km, the top tube cracked and my claim to Cervelo was rejected, despite the lifetime warranty, whch obviously is bullshit. I took care of that bike like no one else on earth, never crashed it, never put it on top or rear of my car, always in the hatchbak trunk, and Cervelo managed to say my top tube had a severe impact which caused the rupture. Sorry, but this never happened. I have been cycling, performing races for almost 40 years now, and Cervelo could not recognize the defect. I visited the three Cervelo dealers in my area, paid a visit to a specialist who repairs carbon fiber bikes, and they all agree, this is a defective top tube. My frame was in a mint condition, not even a single scratch. I rode Marinoni, Cannondale, Trek and Scott bikes on the same roads for about the same mileage, and no issue or whatsoever with the frames. First and last Cervelo for me. Be aware... Don't take into account the Cervelo lifetime warranty if you are planning to buy a Cervelo frame. Forgot to mention, Cervelo did offer me a R5 frameset at a replacement cost... It would actually cost me $250 more than if I buy it myself at the local dealer... What a deal.

    Re: Cervelo Warranty

Not really the purpose of this forum, and many of us have had very positive experiences with the cervelo support. Only out of interest, it would be good to see pictures . Typically the top tube is a low stressed area that only gets cracked due to impact . Never seen one crack after many years due to "manufacturing defect".

Well if the intent of that forum is only to share positive aspects of Cervelo cycling, then not sure I understand the purpose of having a forum. I requested my post to be deleted so you can get only positive issues shared about Cervelo. I brought my bike to three different dealers and an independant repair shop, and all unanimously agreed on frame defect. Wether or not the top tube is a low stress area, it is irrelevant. Thanks for your feedback.

No need to reply as I requested my id to be deleted since I no longer have interest in Cervelo products. Thank you.
