    2016 R2 (Grey/Orange) Max Tire Clearance

    I wanted to try a 28C tires on my R2.. will it fit?

    I purchased my R3 in 2016...its the black frame with the white top tube. I don't know if this will help but I've only gone up to 25 on the R3. I don't think I could fit 28s in there.

    Thanks for the reply...im currently using 25C tires, im just curious if it fits a 28C before buying a pair, but i guess 25C is max for this year model R2 and maybe that includes the R3 as well.

    I think the R2 has a different fork thank the R3 but it's still pretty tight by the bottom bracket/chainstays.

    The R2s fork has enough clearance for a 28C ,its the rear (chainstay/seat tube)that might not have enough space for a tire wider than 25C in my observation unless i get to try and install one.

    i have 2016 R2 and conti gators 28 fit no problem

    Mine was not a success, i installed a 28C Conti Ultrasport ll on my 15mm ID rim, after like 3-4 rides i noticed it rubbed out the top coat and paint almost exposing the Carbon of the rear NDS seatstay. inflated it at 85psi.
