Connecting the SW-R610 Sprinter Switch to the SM-EW90 5-Port junction box (Cervelo P5)

I would greatly appreciate your support. I own a Cervelo P5 with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 9070 gearing system. As I'm trying to find an elegant solution for shifting gears from the base bar (in addition to the switches I have installed in the aerobar extensions), I discovered the SW-R610 Sprinter Switch. According to Shimano's Dealer's Manual (9070 Series), this SW-R610 Sprinter Switch has a different port shape that can fit only the ST-9070 (road dual control lever) and I'll not be able to connect it to the SM-EW90 5 port junction box in my Cervelo P5. Questions: 1. Is that the case? 2. Is there any option to replace the connector of the SW-R610 switch with a standard connector that will fit the SM-EW90 5 port junction box? Thanks,

Yes you are right the sprint button only works with the dual control shifters. not sure if changing the plugs is a possible hack but it will be down to whether the switches have the pcb board in which i dont think they do. i assume your problem is you want to keep the magura brakes rather than use the shimano brake levers. i ended up using a r600 climber switch on my set up and it works well

Thanks Ghost Rider. You are right - the main purpose of this post is to keep the Magura breaks while having the option to shift gears from the base-bar (in addition to the shifting switches that are installed in the aerobar extensions). Now I totally understand the logic behind the Special Plug and the Short Wire of the SW-R610 Sprinter Switches. These switches are probably too small to carry their own PCB board, which should include several electronic devices in order to allow the system to recognize/communicate with them. The ST-9070 (dual control levers) carry the PCB board required by the SW-R610 Sprinter Switches. Hacking the plug of the SW-R610 Sprinter Switches (changing it to a standard one) won't help and may even damage the entire system. Thank you very much for the valuable input - you have a great logic. I'll definitely go with the SW-R600 - could you share a picture of where exactly did you attach the switch (I have in mind a few options, but I would like to decide the exact location after discussing it with an experienced person).

Ghost Rider I'm about to pull the trigger and add Di2 9070 to my P5. From my research your solution is the best, can you confirm if any modifications are needed to the remote shifter? It seems from my reading that the cable length may be an issue? As well it appears that it will only work with the RD? Thanks in advance for the help!
