    New R5

    From Cervelo's twitter feed:

For me, it disappointingly looks like the S5 geometry instead of the current R5, but that is just me.

It's a small frame on the pic, no geo charts yet, it looks racy and will be interesting what the bunch sprinters will choose from their given options ..

    Re: New R5

My guess would be the new R5 will have the same geo as the current S5 now that the C series available.

Thinking maybe Cervelo will have the S5 and R5 as a racier geometry and the S3 and R3 as the more relaxed/endurance type geometry. Nice looking update

Love the look. One of the best looking Cervelo's IMO

Why did they bother covering up? A couple of green logos. That's it.

I saw from an online site that this picture version is on the UCI approved frame list as "R5 rim brake version." That leads you to believe a disk brake model is Vo I g as well.

Great bike let down by the paint scheme. It is possible to be minimalist but still inject a bit of wow. This is just a black frame with a Cervelo transfer on it and they still seem to stick to viewing the paint scheme as a two sided affair rather than seeing the frame as 3 dimensional by wrapping the logos around the frame more. Just my opinion

Don, The article I saw noted three things besides paint - larger diameter tubes (assume this adds stiffness), aero downtube, and hidden seat collar. My guess is it becomes a better all around bike for flats, climbing and sprinting.

Looks like they may have shortened the head tube a bit on the new R5?

The fork crown (high) above the brake mount screw got bigger, too ..

Hi Stanseven, I agree that the bike will no doubt be yet another winner but I just feel that they could do with an upgrading their paint scheme. It has remained pretty constant for many years and I just reckon it looks a bit tired. Mind you Pinarello seem to follow the same philosohpy..
