Don, Yes, the paint scheme in the last several years is boring. Even Pinarello hasn't gotten as bad. Some of the latest F8 and F10 have bright colors mixed in.

Reviews are trickling out now. It seems CyclingTips has a link to the working R-series page: https://rseries.cervelo.com/

The new rseries.cervelo.com site does not show a geo chart. Every number there needs some pre knowledge ore calculating to get facts. The human machine idea is nice and maybe more developable to a machine that drives humans idea, too. Not like a wagon but like an instrument, like a music instrument with all the power it can give us. To find out what else is to move after the wheel was invented to carry things easy some thousand years before ..

Does anyone know about the R5 disc thru axle dimensions? I'm assuming 12x100 (f) and 12x142 (r), but I haven't found anything to confirm. Thanks...

    Re: New R5

I have to say to look of this new R5 is pretty boring ...

Don't get me wrong: I dislike as well these paint schemes of other brands which are crying out  "look at me ... !" by using colours that could be causing eye-cancer :)

The paint scheme from 2013(?) on where they went to this matte coating IMHO already was a lead balloon.
The best looking scheme was the 2011er (and before) paintjob (the glossy black with the red/green/blue/grey "stripe" on the top-tube then kinking down to continue on the fork. Something in this style ... the 2015 paint scheme went back (a little) towards this direction  - not as perfect as in 2011 but better then before and now.

P.S.: The dimension data team bike look (the one with the green accents) from the past years seemed pretty okay to me too - it was even making an S5 looking good :P

    just my 0.02$ on it

They said the new r3 is 10% lighter while the r5 remained the same weight wise. Does that mean that they weight pretty much the same now?

Does anyone know the size of the rotors for the disc brake version?

    Re: New R5

The R5 Disc models come standard with 160mm rotors, however, you have the option of using 140mm rotors by reversing the mounting plate for the calipers.

Hi Jakub (or anyone else) - I understand that frames bigger than 51 cm will be getting seatposts with a setback.  I would prefer a zero setback despite riding a 54 cm.  Is it possible to order a zero setback for the new R5?

    Re: New R5

Hi NYCPrynne, Your right, 48 and 51cm R5's come with zero offset seat posts, larger sizes have 25mm setback. You can order either version through your Cervélo retailer, I just checked and we have plenty in stock. Please note that seat posts sold individually DO NOT include the seat post head assembly, so either transfer your bolts/hardware to the new one or be sure to also order the assembly. Seatpost - SP-R5SP18-ZERO Seat post head assembly - SPH-FSA Cheers,
