    Upset, cracked R2

Today I found a small crack by the seatpost:( i don't know how or when it happened. Not sure what to do, wil fixing cost the same a buying a frame new? I don't believe I have warranty. I have looked for this frame in this color for a very long time and finally found it a little over a year ago. Sucks because I just installed eTap on it last week:( This bike is pretty much a dream to ride, it perfect. hosting gif

Does this crack go through to the other side of the opening or is it just a paint finish craze? If it's just paint crazing, it should be ok, but must be watched. If it goes all the way through the material to the inside of that seat post opening, then it has to be repaired. I'd take it to a Cervelo shop and see what they think about it and their suggestions. Hopefully the seat post clamp wasn't over tightened at any point or placed too low on the seat tube.

I don't think it goes all the way. Is there anyway to post a video on here? It may be just the paint.

I don't even get the Picture posting window in my message boxes, so have no idea if there is a video support on this site. Do yourself a favor... take your bike in to a Cervelo dealer and ask them their opinion. If it's just paint crazing, then you should be OK. If it is an actual crack of the carbon fiber material, then they will advise you on what to do. If it takes a fix and is not under warranty, I'm sure the process would still be way less $$ than a new frame. Have it checked out for your peace of mind. And ours, too. Let us know what they say.

could it be you chose a frame (at least) one size too small ? this one has a lot of seatpost extension, increasing the leverage beyond what the frame was designed to be able to absord

It's possible. I was fitted to this bike at a Cervelo dealer before purchasing it. I always thought it did have a lot of extension though but its pretty damn long as well.
