    Cable guides and eTap

What are people doing with the cable guides on their bikes once switching from mechanical to eTap shifting? I’ll be converting my 2014 R3 in the coming weeks. Ideally I’d like them gone, but I realize this will impact resale value of not done in a way that they can be put back on. Any thoughts? Past experiences? Thanks in advance.

    Re: Cable guides and eTap

Up until a few days ago, I had just left the existing plastic grommets that were there when I removed the gear cables. But one appears to have popped out (they don't sit in there very tightly), and I've lost it, so now I'm on the hunt for something to plug them up entirely. There are grommets and frame plugs you can get for the various cable entry/exit points on your frame (the one I lost is on the down tube), but they seem impossible to find here in Australia :-( https://www.bike24.com/1.php?content=8;product=137229;menu=1000,4,34;page=35 Cheers, Mike

Thanks. I can find them online, but postage is a killer. $4 parts and $70 shipping!!!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The problem is that I have a 2014 R3. This is before they futureproofed them for electric shifting. So my cable stops are riveted on. Are you suggesting that one can poke out the rivets and use these?
