  • Re: Upgrade 2014 r3 to 32 / 11 cassette? Optimize for climbing

All you need (for the cheapest solution)... a Shimano 105 10spd GS RD (~$40) and a 10 sped 11-32T cassette (~$35-50)... both Shimano and Sram make those cassettes and are compatible between brands.  Keep in mind, when you go 11-32T, you do have some jumps (11, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 22, 25, 28, 32), and the cassette is ~300g... but ...

  • Re: R3 Campy Crank BBright Question

philm, therein lies the problem and the answer to why Cervélo doesn't comment on BBs, especially since they are not in the business of manufacturing them. The forum and user experience has always served as a source for answers that vary in technical level and across the range of bikes... unfortunately, in this case, I don't ever recall ...

  • Re: R3 Campy Crank BBright Question

Cervélo has rarely commented on the forum about BBs, especially since the proliferation of PressFit BBs and many manufacturers bringing their own version to the market.  They did many years ago when BBright was brought to the market and options were limited.  In my opinion, by now, I believe they are assuming enough ...

  • Re: S3 Disc Aero

Did anyone notice the nifty out front computer mount for Cervélo's own aero bar?  On close inspection, it appears to have the Bar Fly logo on it. In addition, the crankset is a BB386EVO version, likely using a specific width drive side spacer to achieve proper chain line and wave-spring washer on the non-drive side.  In ...

  • Re: BB30 S3 or R3 and Sram cranks for Etap

The Sram YAW front derailleur works best with Sram's X-GlideR chainrings... with that in mind, if choosing a compatible Sram BB30/PF30 crankset for a BBright frame, you have more than one option besides the BB30/PF30 Force 22. Sram also has the slightly cheaper, but similar construction S-series... the new naming ...

  • Re: 2016 P2 crank replacement

I won't get into whether GXP or BB30 is better, however, you have more BB options if you go with the 30mm spindle on a Cervelo BBright frame. As for the differences between Sram cranksets that are labeled BB30 or BB30/PF30... it is simple, some are true BB30 for asymmetric frames with standard 68mm wide BB shells or Specialized (61mm)... ...

  • Re: built for bottles

Neither the new S2 or S3 have more than one position for the downtube bottle like the new S5.  The only thing you can do is offset your cages just a bit if they have multiple mounting holes.

Great to hear!  Hope this nightmare ends for you.  One question though... what crankset did you swap for?

  • Re: 2009 S3 - new fork to fit 700x25 tires?

It does use a straight 1 1/8" steerer, so top and bottom bearings are the same. As for compatible forks, I can't say with certainty which will fork perfectly, but ENVE and Ritchey both make straight 1 1/8" carbon forks which claim clearance for 25mm tires and even some 28mm (Ritchey).  I can't find an old ...
