• Re: Cervelo's and SRAM eTap

I put etap wifli on my 2011 RS.  I filed the top of the FD mount to allow placement per the spec, but I'm not sure if this was absolutely necessary.  I'm running new 50/34 X-Glide rings with an 11-32 cassette. I get a little chain rub on the little tab at the top front of the FD cage when in the big-big combination. Oddly ...

  • Re: Looking for advice on old RS frames

Interesting myjeepshawn. I also put a Sram Red/Black on my white 2011, and in addition 3T Ergonova carbon bars. WIth Zipp 202 clinchers it weighs in at 15.32 lbs (no pedals). I had upgraded to a Bianchi Infinto CV but trashed it unfortunately. I thought about replacing the Bianchi but after riding the RS again I realized that the ride of the ...

FYI, 2011 RS, 202 FC clinchers, 25mm GP4000s rub.  Had to add a few mm of material in the dropouts to make it work.

  • Re: Zipp Wheels
The 188 hubs are terrible... I've had 2 hubs self destruct resulting in frame damage. This combined with the preload and lateral play issues means I will never own another zipp wheel. If I ever do I will lace them to a decent hub
Did you pursue a warranty repair/replacement? I'd be upset ...

No problems with my 2013 202s after about 5k miles.  There's a little play in the bearings as ZIpp says there should be but nothing serious.  I've never over-tightened them since a little play doesn't bother me.
