  • Re: Zipp 303 vs 404 firecrest carbon clinchers

I have 303FC and Reynolds 46 and Zipp 101 hoops, and can't say that in gusty conditions I sense any difference at 150lbs.  All have powertap hubs but that won't change what the rim does in the wind, it will just be a difference in overall wheel weight.   I do have maybe 50 miles on a borrowed set of 808FC wheels and those tossed ...

  • Re: Questions about my S5

If your authorized reseller told you it was fine, then it is fine. Because if it is NOT fine....well, they get to fix it or replace it. That's what authorized resellers do.

  • Re: Why do you think the S3 is no longer in the line up?

I love the data, and assume it must all be true.  My S3 is awesome and I wouldn't trade it for anything. For me the most interesting part is that all this data doesn't translate to any more wins.  Liquigas had a helluva year on slow-ass round tube bikes.  Pinarello clearly enjoyed a lot of success on their non-aero bikes in ...

  • Re: Cycling and Baseball

You're correct in that I've lost a bit of focus -- good point. May main points of focus are these: 1. Everyone loses. Why is that Tyler always has an excuse and everyone else just wasn't as fast? Why does everyone else "just lose" and in Tyler's case someone else always is responsible for his loss? 2. He is not a ...

  • Re: Cycling and Baseball

The whole "bad luck" issue has been pounded into the ground with Tyler -- after years of doing poorly, it's not luck any more.  And yep, Cav is strong...we can talk about that forever.  But geeze Griepel has his days at the front, Sagan gets him on the right courses, etc etc for a list of other sprinters.  Tyler ...

  • Cycling and Baseball

I have absolutely no interest in watching baseball, but their policy of "sending down" anyone who doesn't/won't/can't perform makes sense to me.  And with that rule in mind Tyler should be sent down.  Competition is like water:  seek your own level.  He's out of his league currently.

  • Re: Will Tyler Farrar ever be the dominant sprinter that he is supposed to be?.....

Touching his brakes would have solved the Petacchi contact.  Not trying to scavenge Vellers' train would have solved his issues there.  Being further up towards the front likely would have helped him avoid all three crashes so far. Agreed he needs a change of venue or specialty.  When his contract is up someone needs to sit ...

  • Re: 2011 S2 (Ultegra) vs. 2012 S2 (SRAM/105)

Have you ridden the bikes on lengthy test rides?  You can listen to all of our opinions and read 1000 magazine reviews but all that matters is what YOU feel when riding the bike.  Everything else is immaterial.

  • Re: Velo magazine just came out with their Aero road bike tes the S5 came in.......

Unfortunately it is most definitely NOT hurting business -- they are selling more of the new geometry bikes. I am a racer and prefer my bars low (and do not like the new geometry) but the sales numbers assure that this change has benefitted Cervelo financially. It is is here to stay, like it or not. The racers are in a minority over the ...

  • Re: Cervelo S2 respray

Cervelo gave you the names of the two authorized spray shops in the US, and you said you can only get the decals through an authorized spray shop. I'm not seeing the problem here.  Have you contacted the authorized spray shops for the decals?
