• Re: S2 or R2?

I built up my 2010 S2 from a frameset. I wanted a good set of wheels that didn't break the bank. I went with Shimano RS30's. Like you said, you wanted a step up from the RS10's. They aren't super light, but I have about 7000K on them so far, and where I ride is very hilly. They've been great everyday wheels for me, bladed ...

  • Re: Enduro TorqTite Bottom Bracket

This has been a really interesting thread. But I still don't get it the whole pressed in bearing thing. I have a 2010 S2 bought as a new unused frame in 2011. I have almost 8000 km on it. Still using the original Ultegra bearing and English threaded bottom bracket. I ride in sun, rain, wind, and everything except snow. It's been taken out ...

  • Re: question on good set up for front strobe and rear lights for safety

I recently bought a Louis Garneau helmet (forget the model name, about $150), and it has a little velcro tab on the rear strap twist adjuster. The helmet comes with a little LED blinky that is pretty bright, and since it's mounted at eye level, and on the back of your head, it's pretty noticeable. I use this in combination with rear and ...

I know it sounds odd, but for those of you with small kids....diaper cream works very well.

  • Re: 2015 TOUR DE FRANCE THREAD

He lost a ton of time yesterday when the peloton split. But like it's been said, he'll really wake up later in the race. He's entertaining to watch, and when he takes off in the mountains, good luck keeping up.

  • Re: 2015 TOUR DE FRANCE THREAD

Being Canadian, I'm following Ryder Hesjedal, and just realized that he's doing the Tour as well as the Giro. Are many other riders doing both besides the obvious? Of course I'm watching MTN Qhubeka to see the Cervelos in action, Daniel Teklehaimanot impressed me during the Giro as well.

  • Re: Training with limited time

Kids are important. That's why I just bought my 11 year old a Rocky Mountain Edge. At 500 bucks it's a lot for a kids bike, but the quality shows (I'm preaching to the choir here!). The added bonus is those evenings when you know you can't get away, but Mom understands that you have to take your son out for a ride. An hour of ...

  • Re: Training with limited time

I'm in a similar boat. I work full time, I'm doing a Master's degree part time, run a business out of my house, and have 2 teens. I get tired just thinking about it. There's no room to train or to race, but there's always a way. My work is only 3.5 k from the house, so I don't get much out of that. But it's 3.5 k ...

  • Re: Installing a fsa sl-k light crank bb30 on a 2011 S2 , impossible ??

I have a 2010 S2 and it, and I think the 2011, have English threaded bottom brackets. The crank you bought is for a press fit bottom bracket, so no, it won't fit and can't be adapted. Experts out there, please free free to correct me if I'm wrong about this.

  • Re: compact vs mid-compact cranks

I went from a standard crank to a compact 50-34 on my S2, with 11-28 cassette. It made a huge difference on the hills. The lower gearing allowed me to keep my cadence up, and I found that I was able to add 2-3 kph on most of my climbs, and it felt like less effort.
