• Re: S5 tail light solution

I recently bought a Louis Garneau Quartz II helmet. It has a velcro-on blinky red LED light on the back of the dial adjuster for helmet fit. It works in a couple of blinky modes as well as always on or off. It's nice and bright, and it moves with your head so it really catches attention.

  • Re: Fender Recommendations for the S5

I was going to mention the ass saver. I cut one out of a plastic report cover. Free, easy, and surprisingly effective, but for the rear wheel only.

  • Re: Other Bikes In Your Stable

Besides my beloved 2010 S2, I have a Giant Boulder SE for the dirt, and a Spesh Allez frame that I'm wanting to build up for a rain/spring/fall bike. I can't quit use the term "Stable" at this point, not much bling other than the S2.

  • Re: New models 2014

Fair enough, I also noticed that the new one is only $50.00 more than the old on the Cervelo website. Pretty good for a fresh new model. Edit: I have the S2 2-position seatpost. It holds everything securely, but it didn't allow me to fit a new Selle Italia saddle (too far back, no zero setback position), and the front bolt was way too fiddley ...

  • Re: New models 2014

Colours aside, the only thing that would make me get rid of my current S2 is the new one. Cervelo hit the nail on the head with the improvements. I love my S2, but this new one looks awesome.

  • Re: KMC or dura ace chain

I am running Ultegra on my S2, and when I broke a chain last year the shop put DA on as a replacement. Huge difference with the DA chain, shifts better, less rubbing in cross chain combos (thinner, I guess), quieter. I sticking with DA chains in the future, though to be honest I haven't used KMC chains.

  • Re: Is heart rate training a thing of the past?

I don't have a power meter, but winter is coming up, and I'll start riding indoors on the trainer. A heart rate monitor is great to make sure you are staying in the right training zone during indoor workouts. I watch TV or a movie while spinning, and always keep it above 130 bpm to make sure I'm getting some cardio work. I also like ...

  • Re: tyres

I have a little over 3000 km on new Pro4 Service Course this year. No punctures, rides fine, good grip. I can't complain about these tyres and would buy them again.

  • Re: Yay...Tour of Alberta starts today

I noticed that Ryder was on an S5 for the prologue, but Dennis and Millar were on P5's. Interesting choice.

  • Re: Soo... what tires do YOU ride?

Michelin Pro 4 service Course this year. I have around 3000km on them so far. No flats, nice tires.
