• Re: S2 Seat Post Issue

I have the same issue on my S2 as well. I have the 2 position seat post, and the road position is fine with my Specialized saddle, but I bought a Selle Italia last year, and in order to get the same fit, I had to either push the saddle all the way forward in the road position, or all the way back with the post in the TT position. It was so ...

  • Re: R3 or S2

I turned 40 three years ago. I rode a fair bit when I was younger, but stopped for work, marriage, and kids. At 40, I said, it's either get up and get back into shape, or let the couch win. I bought a Specialized Allez and put 1200 or so Km on it the first year. Then I bought an S2 and put about 3000 km on it. Last year was about 3500. This ...

  • Re: Cervello and ISM Adamo seats

Interesting topic. I am considering an Adamo road saddle or a Specialized Romin for my S2. The Romin looks thinner and lighter, I'm not sure how much the Adamo weighs. As soon as the weather warms up a bit I'm riding both and see which fits the best. The Adamo is an unknown for me, I don't even know anyone with one to ask, but ...

  • Re: aero bars

If you don't want to spring for a new seat and post, mark your road position on the seat rails where it meets the seat clamp, and make a second mark in your TT position once you've established a comfy and aero position. That way you can revert simply by loosening the clamp bolts and moving the seat to the required markings. I do this on ...

  • Re: I DID IT!!!!

I'm doing my BB clean and grease for the first time this year, I've always done my own brakes and derailleur adjustments, but after many years away from cycling, the external BB styles had me scratching my head. Now that I've changed the crank out myself, taking it off to do the BB bearings doesn't seem such a big deal. I ride the ...

  • Re: 52/36 vs 50/34

I'm running 50/34 110 BCD up front, and 11-25 out back. I do about 3500 K per year, and I ride some pretty hilly terrain. I just ordered a 11-28 cassette to give me a bail out gear and let me spin higher cadence on the hills. I'm not sure which gears I'll lose in the middle, but it's a test to see how it goes; I can always switch ...

  • Re: 2012 S2 rival or R3 rival

The advantage of the S2 is that it comes with a lifetime frame warranty, something you won't get with a used bike. I own a 2010 S2 and am clearly biased, but that's the one I'd go for, especially if you want it to do double duty at TT's or tri's.

  • Re: New member and rider of cervelo....

Could you cut a shim from a pop can and wrap it around the post at the clamp location? It would be invisible and might give you the fit you need.

  • Re: Tire Choices

I'm at the same weight, and just looking at getting the right tire for me. I may stick with 23's unless I find compelling reasons to go with 25's. I'll check the tire clearance on my bike, and then have a look at the different tires.
