  • Re: 2014 R3 with SRAM Force 22 BB30 "native”

I did as Hutch instructed after installing bbinfinite bottom bracket on a Cervélo S5 2015. With dust caps on both sides, 13mm DS spacer, I placed a 2.5 mm spacer SRAM sells, no wave washer, on NDS. When I tightened down the dDS, I had a little friction when I tested the crank spin. I sanded off a little from one side of NDS spacer and measured ...

  • S5 Gen II Gen 2 frame front derailleur rear derailleur slots on cross tub

Ive had issues with my front force 22 derailleur on my cervelo S5 gen 2 (2015). It never shifted great. Now, Ive removed the front derailleur and cut back the shifting cable to the handle bars. Riding small ring only now. When I reinstall the cable front derailleur cable, I plan to put a barrel adjuster behind the Handle bar stem. However, Im ...

  • Sounds over large bumbs

I have an new S5 2015 frame and when I go over larger bumps or potholes at fast speeds I get a sound - maybe out of the front fork/headset area - hard to tell.  Noise could be a carbon on carbon slap but I don't see any markings.  I was thinking of taking the headset apart to inspect, any advice?  J

  • Re: Force 22 derailleur - compatiblility

Just an update on Force 22 compatibility with 10 speed Rival components.  I now have both Force 22 front and rear derailleurs and a SRAM 11 speed cassette with a 11 speed Red chain and my original Rival 10 speed shifters - the original FSA BBright crank.  It still works great. Only issue is my 10 speed shifters can't get on all the ...

  • Rival 22 crankset BB30 2014 BBright?

Hutch,  Do you know if the Rival 22 is BBright compatible - is it designed like a Force 22 or Red 22? I saw that the crank was available in the 52/36 version. Jimbo S5 2012

  • Re: Bikeshop poor service = bike exchange or money back?

I had a similar experience with noise/shifting - incomplete cable stretching, rear derailleur alignment/fatigued derailleur hanger, loose chain ring bolts and pedals, bottom bracket alignment - I learned the hard way and flipped my lid too.   Patience pays off in the end; however, an aero bike with internal cable routing and a press fit ...

  • Re: Force 22 derailleur - compatiblility

Changed out the RDs this AM.  I'm happy to report that the Force 22 worked like a charm with my 10 speed Rival shifters, a Shimano 105 10 speed cassette 11-28. The stop screws were sufficient and the actuation is fine. I used  Dura Ace 7901 HG narrow chain but I don't think it really matters because the Force 22 cage looked ...

  • Re: Force 22 derailleur - compatiblility

I'm actually starting with the rear derailleur. As you mention the actuation is in the shifters.  If the rear derailleur has exact actuation that is really 1:1, then then I'm hoping it shouldn't matter which derailleur as long as I keep the same shifters and the same cassette spacing.  I'll post what ...

  • Re: Force 22 derailleur - compatiblility

Thanks for all the feedback. Hutch your  smart!  Darn - I thought by now you guys would have forgot about my ridiculous rant. My apologies.  As it turns out, it wasn't the Rival group, there was some kind of defect in my frame/hanger - its all been worked out. In any case, the whole event caused me to buy a bike stand and ...

  • Force 22 derailleur - compatiblility

Thought I would upgrade my Rival 10 speed rear derailleur.  The new SRAM Force 22 - 11 speed costs $117, and the old 10 speed Force version cost $159. SRAM says you have to upgrade everything from shifters, cassette, and chain to Force 22.  Thought I would try out just the rear derailleur since I'm not changing out the original ...
