• Re: Cav has an opinion on the S5 as 5 year old design?

Thumper88 I have to totally agree with your comment: " The current s5 is within a watt or two of the top bikes. It's not something a human could notice in a 1600w sprint. Or at any other time on the road." and he has that ultra special ultra light paint job, that is probably worth, what, a couple of watts, if not a ...

wrong thread, this one is not from the last Tour de France, this is a week or so ago when Cav did not win a sprint and complained that his S5 was a 5 year old design.

he does seem to be an all or nothing sort of chap... today he wins and exclaims, he should have kept fighting to the line and if he had finished second instead of rolling over the line further back yesterday he would be in the elader's jersey.... but it very uncommon (possibly unprofessional, and though I have no way to know but I think ...

  • Cav has an opinion on the S5 as 5 year old design?

to quote from Cycling News :"I think we're always at a disadvantage with the aerodynamic differences between our bicycles. We've got a five-year old bike and I know how fast that Venge goes. But that's not what won it. I should always be able to make up that advantage because I've got more watts. But today I was ...

  • Re: Cervelo Warranty for Damage During Trainer Usage

personally I am with Butch on this one.  I did a similar thing, I kept one of my aluminum road bikes for just the purpose to have it as a permanent fixture to my trainer and if I want I might use it as a gravel bike.... but I do not want to over stress my frame in a way that is not the way the frame was not designed for.  Just my ...
Day 1. Day 1 is when :)
yes absolutely Day 1 every neo nate child should be given a power meter along with their huggies gift prior to leaving the hospital! we need to get them young while they are still open minded and impressionable to join the power meter cult! ;-)

  • Re: At what point do you get a power meter?

I think David has hit the high points, for me it is the brutal reality of the power meter, it is not a factor of how you feel it is simply a matter of fact, 200 watts will always be 200 watts but there are times they sure do feel different.  As David noted my general feeling is that if I settle into a certain pace for a head wind it still ...

  • Re: strange cassette issue

correct on both accounts, yes they are, in the cross overs the rear derailler is at its max or minimum ie big, big it is pretty much fully extended and small small it is at its minimum with not a whole lot of tension on the chain.  I think this combo is as far as this derailler can go, it still seems odd that the only cog combo that is ...
