  • Re: Replace/upgrade r3 ?

Get a new one with disc brakes and help out the economy. Keep the old R3 for those rainy days, although the disc brakes are way better in the wet than rim brakes. I tend to keep my bikes a while and will upgrade here and there when there's a significant benefit. I'm still very happy with the lowly R2 orphan I bought 2+ years ago. It still ...

  • Re: Cav has an opinion on the S5 as 5 year old design?

Yep. Agree. Cav's not a bad guy but does push into not so great spots when he makes his moves at times. Sometimes the choices turn out badly. Cav and Sagan had a racing accident. That kind of thing unfortunately happens in the heat of the competitive moment every once in a while. Sagan is a hoot to watch, seems not to take himself too ...

  • Re: Is a Subaru Impreza 2011 good for driving?

I always carry the bike inside the car! Safer for the bicycle and makes maintenance a lot easier since it stays out of the road dirt while being transported.

Hundreds of Pros are usually sponsored and can easily get a new bike if there are any problematic issues.

  • Re: Cervelo Warranty for Damage During Trainer Usage

The fixed stresses delivered to a bike frame on a trainer are pretty rough. I would never put a carbon bike on a trainer, unless it's one never being ridden on the road again. I bought a super cheap aluminum bike years ago to take that abuse. The only thing I looked for was a frame that could be adjusted to mirror the set up on my road ...

  • Re: Is a Subaru Impreza 2011 good for driving?

Impreza is a reliable car and should be fine. Especially if you own a Cervelo bike. Gotta keep it relevant on the Cervelo forum. Hope you got the hatch version so you can put the bike inside the car to transport it!

  • Re: Chain Ring Bolts

11 Treks is way up there above the call. Way to go! One of my favorite fun rides and for a good cause. Wish I could do more of them. Yes the old 2006 Specialized Allez Comp has a threaded BB. Didn't know a Press-fit BB would not like the wet ride as much. I did ride through a cooling torrential downpour well into the last half of the Maine ...

  • Re: Chain Ring Bolts

I've only done 5 Treks Across Maine, but one in particular was monsoon like with pouring rain for the first two days. Bikes were not outside at night at Sunday River, but we rode through miles of standing water. Definitely the wettest ride I'd ever experienced. My chain suffered and the grinding noises became pretty horrible toward the ...

  • Re: Picture of your Cervelo

Your R3 looks really good dkane. My head set spacers and stem get moved around some from time to time, so understand. That SLK crankset/chainring also looks great. Keep riding!
