  • Re: Bottom Bracket Lifespan

I did the same monsoon Trek Across Maine that cawright mentions and he's not kidding about the amount of water we rode through. Inches of water on the roadways plus constant moderate to heavy rainfall. At the end of the first day, I hosed off my crank, chain and cassette. I was riding my 2006 Specialized Allez Comp with a triple 105 group on ...

  • Re: New cervelo up dates don't include the S series😐

When has a new bike "come out" with a lower price? Yes, it may have happened at one time or another, but certainly not common in my experience. S series has always seemed premium priced since I first saw one at a bike shop. Has always been an excellent looking and great riding bike. Hope this new model doesn't balloon in price too ...

  • Re: Adding Sunweb??

Any of the cyclists that survive a TdF deserve to be admired, regardless of their personality quirks/faults. There's an enormous amount of personal sacrifice, pain and uber insane dedication to make it all the way to the Champ's pave show, let alone trying to remain competitive all the way. I wonder what the whiny quotient would be ...

  • Re: Replace/upgrade r3 ?

Get a new one with disc brakes and help out the economy. Keep the old R3 for those rainy days, although the disc brakes are way better in the wet than rim brakes. I tend to keep my bikes a while and will upgrade here and there when there's a significant benefit. I'm still very happy with the lowly R2 orphan I bought 2+ years ago. It still ...

  • Re: Cav has an opinion on the S5 as 5 year old design?

Yep. Agree. Cav's not a bad guy but does push into not so great spots when he makes his moves at times. Sometimes the choices turn out badly. Cav and Sagan had a racing accident. That kind of thing unfortunately happens in the heat of the competitive moment every once in a while. Sagan is a hoot to watch, seems not to take himself too ...

  • Re: Is a Subaru Impreza 2011 good for driving?

I always carry the bike inside the car! Safer for the bicycle and makes maintenance a lot easier since it stays out of the road dirt while being transported.

Hundreds of Pros are usually sponsored and can easily get a new bike if there are any problematic issues.

  • Re: Cervelo Warranty for Damage During Trainer Usage

The fixed stresses delivered to a bike frame on a trainer are pretty rough. I would never put a carbon bike on a trainer, unless it's one never being ridden on the road again. I bought a super cheap aluminum bike years ago to take that abuse. The only thing I looked for was a frame that could be adjusted to mirror the set up on my road ...

  • Re: Is a Subaru Impreza 2011 good for driving?

Impreza is a reliable car and should be fine. Especially if you own a Cervelo bike. Gotta keep it relevant on the Cervelo forum. Hope you got the hatch version so you can put the bike inside the car to transport it!
