• Re: S5 disc 2019 bike box

I will travel with my S5 Disc in August and I have a Evoc Bike Travel Bag Pro which I've been using the last couple of years. The problem with most boxes is, that you'll have to remove the handlebar and (in case of the Evoc Bike Travel Bag) attach it to top tube and downtube on the non-drive side using the provided tube protector with ...

  • Roof rack with fork mount and Thru Axle

I have a Thule ThruRide 565 roof rack for my mountain bike. Will there be any issue with mounting the 2019 S5 Disc on that roof rack? Thule mentions in their manual that the roof rack is not suitable for forks with carbon dropouts. The image shows a QR axle with open dropouts. This makes somehow sense as carbon dropouts might be more slippery ...

  • Re: Questions on S5 (2019)

When I ordered my R5 Disc last year from my official Cervelo dealer, I was able to order it with 40cm bars instead of 42cm (size 54) as well as a longer stem (110mm instead of 100mm) without any additional costs. Since I have just ordered an S5 a couple of weeks ago, my Cervelo dealer showed me the "S5 workshop adjustment kit" which ...

  • Re: Cervelo R3 disc 2018 axles diameters

My R5 Disc (2018) has 12x100 front and 12x142 rear. I'm sure it's the same for the R3 Disc 2018.

  • Re: 140mm rotors on R5 Disc

Only front adapters have to be turned if going from 160mm to 140mm or vice versa. Rear adapter just has to be renoved to go to 140mm from 160mm.

  • Re: Cervelo R5 ride impressions
Just to confirm, what is the stem angle of that carbon stem that comes with the R5, +8*? Thanks
The original stem's angle is -8 degrees (non-reversable).

  • Re: 2018 R3 seatpost slipping

I do not have an R3 but I had a similar issue on one of my MTBs. Check the screw of your seatpost clamp for any dirt or any scratches in its thread which could result in resistance. In my case the resistance in the seatclamp screw was strong enough to make the torque meter click even though the clamping force wasn't nearly high enough to hold ...

  • Re: 2018 Cervelo R5

I got the R5 Disc with with the ENVE 3.4 wheels and the said Formula Hubs. Since I am Swiss, I'd have loved to see DT Swiss Hubs on this fantastic wheelset. But I have to admit, these Formula hubs did a good job so far. I've ridden them 2000 kilometers until today and have not had any issues at all.

  • Re: Anyone try to migrate the new Synchro Di2?

I realliy like synchro shift on my MTB (XT Di2). I didnt really like it on my R5 Disc, so I turned it back to manual then. Anyway, Id recommend to upgrade your battery and add the EW-WU111 (BT and ANT+ interface) to use the hidden buttons on the hoods for controlling your bike computer (works perfectly well wirh my Garmin).

  • Re: Smart trainers (not Wahoo KICKR) compatible with R5 Disc

I use my R5 disc on a Tacx Neo. you can basically use it on every trainer, which is offering a standard 12 x 142 TA adapter. The only thing you will need to do is to replace your rear derailleur hanger and axle with the ones from a C5. They have the exact same dimensions just with a normal thread instead of RAT.
