  • Re: 2018 R3 disc chainline

That's encouraging, but makes me question why Rotor offers an Aldhu offset spindle for 46mm chainline, and why the new Easton Ec90 crank also has 45 (2x) chainline. Both the Rotor and the Easton say they are for 142 rear spacing on 11 spd disc. Perhaps I misunderstand exactly what "chainline" is or the importance of a 2.5mm ...

  • Di2 Installation frustration

I've been really surprised at how difficult it is to get good information regarding the correct parts (mostly wire lengths) to install Di2. I have a 2018 R3 disc, and plan to install either DA Di2 (9170) or Ultegra Di2 (8070), but don't want to spend even more $$ on trial and error for junction boxes and lengths of wire that I can't ...

  • 2018 R3D w/ new Reynolds AR41x db—issues?

Hello, I'm building a new bike2018 R3Dand am looking at these new wheels from Reynolds: https://reynoldscycling.com/products/ar-41-x-db Wondering if anyone has installed a 30mm wide rim on an R3D, and if there were any issues? 30mm seems pretty wide to me, and while I know the R3D was designed for wider tires, I still have a little ...

  • Re: Tire clearance for 2014 R3-R5

Not sure if the fork design changed significantly between '12 and '14, but I have the same minimal clearance issue with my '12 R3. And it definitely has been a problem. The lower side of the fork crown shows serious wear--the paint i s completely worn off and you can feel with your finger a slight indentation in the carbon. My guess is ...

  • Re: Reynolds DV46C UL or EDGE Composites C45

I think the Edge wheels will turn out out to be the better wheels in the long run. Reynolds make great wheels, but one of the original founders moved on with his knowledge and designs and started . . . Edge Composites. For me, the greatest feature of the Edge clinchers is the spoke hole. Edge molds them in during rim ...

  • Re: Strange sizing difference between RS and R3

I think the frame size is stamped on the outside of one of the rear dropouts (left or right I'm not sure). It's very small, and the paint can make it difficult to read, but I think it's there.
