  • Re: Zwift Cervelo Canada Cup

Just don't ride on one of your Cervelos:)   I missed the first night as well and planning to ride the second stage tonight.  RideOn!

  • Re: Cervelo Warranty for Damage During Trainer Usage

Fully agree it is disappointingly ironic that Cervelo is a promoter on Zwift, enabling users to earn an S5 through the extensive trainer use required to reach level 24, yet Cervelo will not warranty any damage to your real Cervelo frameset that you use on a trainer to reach that goal.

  • Cervelo Warranty for Damage During Trainer Usage

In case you're one of the growing number of cyclists using a Cervelo-framed bicycle on a trainer to utilize one or more training apps (e.g., Zwift, Sufferfest, etc), you may be under the impression that the frame's warranty will cover any cracks or breaks that occur during trainer usage.  While many brands have recently clarified that ...

  • Re: 2018 R3 - What Indoor Trainer is best for it

Ive never crashed on the bike in question (or any other bike). Also, Ive never stated that one cant use a carbon frame bike on a trainer, but rather noted that should a failure occur, it may not be covered under warranty. As a result, its simply my recommendation to use an inexpensive dedicated trainer bike instead of one with an expensive ...

  • Re: 2018 R3 - What Indoor Trainer is best for it

Unfortunately my experience using a carbon frame on a direct drive trainer conflicts with the advice provided above.  Specifically, I've experience a chainstay failure during use on a direct drive trainer.  It occurred during a climb up to the radio tower on Zwift mountain.  And if you may be thinking I might be a ...

  • Re: 2018 R3 - What Indoor Trainer is best for it

You may want to consider using a dedicated steel or aluminum bike instead of a carbon-framed R3 for indoor training, especially on direct drive trainers.  The lateral forces generated on these trainers can exceed what the frames were designed to tolerate on the open road.  This could lead to carbon failure that the general warranty will ...

  • Re: To Q ring or not?

I tried them last season and ended up getting rid of them.  Aside from not being as stiff as my DA rings, I definitely felt more tension in my quads that extended up to my lower back.  Certainly didn't make me a better rider.

  • Re: Cervelo R5 2012 - Questions on Ride Performance

Regarding comfort level, I just replaced my RS with an R5 and was somewhat apprehensive that I might be sacrificing too much in terms of comfort by stepping up to the R5. This mainly stemmed from a review on Bikeradar that mentioned a rough ride. This proved to be complete nonsense. Every ride on the R5 thus far (ranging between 50-100 miles) ...

  • Re: Will Tyler Farrar ever be the dominant sprinter that he is supposed to be?.....

Based on his performances over the past few years (as opposed to the hype), I doubt Farrar would even make the list of top five sprinters. Seems to lack the killer instinct necessary to finish off races.

Congrats on the S5.  How much does the frame weight?
