  • Re: Cable guides and eTap

Thanks. I can find them online, but postage is a killer. $4 parts and $70 shipping!!!

  • Re: SRAM red etap blanking grommets s3

OK, have been running this set up for about 12 months now. No issues. I've got SRAM Red GXP 52/36 cranks with a BBInfinite BB setup. Was easy enough to fit myself (although getting the old PF BB out was a bit unattractive without the right tools) I do notice I get a bit of chain rub on the large chainring when I'm in my 36 (front) ...

  • Re: Cable guides and eTap

Up until a few days ago, I had just left the existing plastic grommets that were there when I removed the gear cables. But one appears to have popped out (they don't sit in there very tightly), and I've lost it, so now I'm on the hunt for something to plug them up entirely. There are grommets and frame plugs you can get for the ...

  • Creaking seatpost on 2016 S3

I seem to have developed an annoying creak on my seat post on my 2016 S3. Creaks when I'm in the saddle, no noise when I'm out. I tightened the seat post clamp thingy to 8N.m and the creak went away, but about 3 weeks later its starting to come back again. Anyone encountered this problem before and if so, can they recommend a ...

  • Re: At what point do you get a power meter?

Well, the point at which I get a power meter is right now! Just bought a SRAM Red Quarq PM for my S3. Looking forward to dropping lots of non-PM equipped riders on my local climbs the moment it's fitted ;-)

  • Re: At what point do you get a power meter?

Wow Teige, you must be fun at parties! Taking a step back from your evangelical hatred of power meters, you do make one valid point; that is, buying a power meter won't make you faster, and it certainly won't make you faster than all the people without power meters. You've actually got to do something with the data. But they have ...

  • Re: At what point do you get a power meter?

There's two main reaons to have a power meter (beyond the obvious "because I want one") 1. It gives a definitive measurement of how you are performing that is independent of weather, terrain and whether you are riding solo or in a bunch. 300W is 300W, whether you are putting it out with a tailwind or on a descent. Of course, ...

  • Re: Cervelo's and SRAM eTap

OK, keeping to the two issues you are keen to resolve, these are my comments: 1. Get your LBS to look VERY carefully at what is actually preventing you moving the eTap FD down as low as you need it to go. On my 2016 S3, its not actually the bottom of the FD mount, but the top part that is preventing me moving the FD down as low as it needs to ...

  • Cervelo's and SRAM eTap

OK, thought I'd post this as an FYI for anyone considering putting eTap on their Cervelo. I've had three different set ups to date: 1. 2009 R3 with SRAM Red eTap 50/34 compact cranks 2. 2016 S3 with FSA SL-K 52/36 midcompact cranks 3. 2016 S3 with SRAM Red eTap 50/34 compact cranks. At some point in the next few weeks I'll ...
